Houtu Recruits People

After watching Yang Mei leave, Nuwa and Houtu returned to the Prehistoric World. However, they did not immediately return to the Prehistoric Continent. Instead, they stopped within the chaos at the edge of the Prehistoric World and looked toward the innate sacred beings searching for the Purple Cloud Palace.

With a sweep of Houtu's sleeve, three figures appeared before her. Two of them were Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun, whom Chen Yu had met before.

The third was a middle-aged Daoist in a blood-red robe, with a faint aura of blood lingering around him.

"Hongyun, Zhen Yuanzi, and Minghe pay respects to Lady Houtu and Lady Nuwa."

Seeing who stood before them, Minghe and the other two, who had intended to act the moment they appeared, immediately bowed in salute.

They naturally knew that Houtu and Nuwa had attained the Dao. Moreover, they had used divine abilities to see that the place where Houtu attained the Dao was Minghe's cultivation ground.

Though Minghe had his objections, he could only swallow them for now. He did not want to lose his life over this matter.

Looking at it from another angle, with such a powerful neighbor as Houtu, unless someone was tired of living, who else would dare cause trouble at his cultivation ground?

Nuwa also swept her sleeve, pulling another figure over. The newcomer was tall and slender, graceful and dignified, dressed in a long white-and-gold dress.

"Queen Mother of the West pays respects to Lady Nuwa and Lady Houtu."

The newcomer was none other than Yang Mei's disciple, the ruler of West Kunlun—the Queen Mother of the West. Upon seeing who stood before her, she bowed in salute.

"Fellow Daoist Queen Mother of the West, the reason we brought you here today is..."
