Background / History

Ina grew up in the Yamanaka Clan, where children were rigorously trained in chakra sensing and concealment from an early age. As a child, she trained and competed alongside Senju Diejian and Hatake Sakumo, accompanying them to Hashirama’s forest and participating in their three-way mock battles 2 3.

Her concealment made her exceptionally difficult for both Diejian and Sakumo to locate, while her Mind Body Switch Technique made her a dangerous long-range threat. However, her taijutsu and ordinary ninjutsu were notably weaker than those of her two companions, and a failed Mind Body Switch left her severely exposed 3.

During Kakuzu’s attack, Ina risked herself to protect the badly injured Diejian. She possessed a medical ninja to obtain intelligence on Kakuzu’s Earth Grudge Fear, then temporarily seized Kakuzu’s body with the Mind Body Switch Technique to create an opening for her allies 5 6.

After Hashirama’s death and Diejian’s hospitalization, Ina visited him daily for six months. During the Nine-Tails crisis, Ina appeared as the commander of a White Zetsu force attacking Konoha. Believed to have been controlled by Uchiha Madara, she was nevertheless classified as a rogue ninja. Diejian killed her before she could use the Mind Body Switch Technique; she smiled as he pierced her heart. Unable to be returned to Konoha even after death, she was buried in a grave outside the village 85 93 94.
