Background / History

Arata awakened Ice Release at five years old, becoming an unprecedented Uchiha child with both the Sharingan and a second Kekkei Genkai. His attempt to take the Academy graduation examination three years early drew hostility from older students, whom he defeated through superior strength, Sharingan perception, and Ice Release. 2 3

Although he initially lacked exceptional talent for Fire Release and dōjutsu, Arata possessed extraordinary aptitude for swordsmanship. He practiced Uchiha-Style Kenjutsu daily, learned Konoha-Style Kenjutsu from Gekko Hayate, and completed mastery of both schools in five days. 10 14 His drive to surpass Itachi and protect the Uchiha Clan intensified as he considered the clan's worsening relationship with Konoha. 8

Following Shisui's death and the Uchiha tragedy, Arata abandoned many of his earlier reservations about binding yōkai and accumulating power. He undertook an extended mission spree, completed seventy-one missions with a perfect record, and earned the name Blood Asura Arata after a bloody A-rank mission in Kirigakure. 43 44

Four months after the Uchiha Clan's annihilation, Arata had become its head. He openly demanded that Konoha lift Anbu surveillance on the clan and warned the village's noble families against testing or manipulating the Uchiha. 96
