Background / History
While fleeing Martial Soul Hall's pursuit, Tang Hao passed through Stone Mirror Village near Nuoding City. His materialized killing intent corroded Ye Shuang'er's body; she died shortly after giving birth to Ling Yun, while Ling Feng later died from grief and illness. Tang Hao was therefore the direct cause of both of Ling Yun's parents' deaths. 158
Tang Hao became famous for his combat record shortly after becoming a Titled Douluo, when he fought Qian Xunji and two other Titled Douluos despite all three possessing higher soul power. The aftermath included one enemy's death, another's injury, and Qian Xunji's eventual death from his wounds. 22
After Martial Soul Hall forced the Clear Sky Sect into seclusion, the sect publicly declared that Tang Hao had severed ties with it. Despite this, Tang Hao continued to regard the sect as his foremost priority and reacted violently when the Falling Cloud Sect demanded compensation for his actions. 111 123
He lived in hiding around Holy Soul Village and raised Tang San. After leaving a letter claiming he was retrieving old belongings, he secretly continued following and protecting his son, only occasionally leaving to visit Ah Yin. 110 111
Appearance
Tang Hao concealed his identity during the raid on the Falling Cloud Sect's Suotuo City branch by wearing a black cloak. Following his escape from Dugu Bo, he was described as disheveled and severely injured. 109 112
- His killing intent can manifest physically, chilling and frosting the surrounding air. 111
- After absorbing Ah Yin's right-leg soul bone, his life force became vigorous and his eyes regained their sharpness. 113
- His Clear Sky Hammer can expand to nearly one hundred meters when empowered by Ring Detonation and his Tool Soul Avatar. 116
Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely proud, violent toward enemies, and willing to use overwhelming force without regard for consequences. After being publicly exposed for raiding the Falling Cloud Sect, he regretted not killing every witness and planned to return to slaughter the branch hall's members. 111
His loyalty is deeply selective. He considers the Clear Sky Sect his highest priority, followed by Ah Yin and then Tang San; nevertheless, Tang San is also his greatest tactical weakness. Tang Hao was willing to concede compensation to Ling Yun only because Tang San's safety was at stake. 111 117
He is protective of his family in his own way. He watched over Tang San in secret, spared Xiao Wu after learning she was a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form, and gave Tang San his former right-leg soul bone rather than keeping it for himself. 112 113
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
Tang Hao's martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, a power-type weapon martial soul capable of overwhelming destructive force.
- Used the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer even while unarmed during the Suotuo City branch-hall raid. 109 110
- Can unleash the Nine Absolutes of the Clear Sky in battle. 117
- Combined his Tool Soul Avatar with Ring Detonation to create a Clear Sky Hammer nearly one hundred meters long. 116
- His full-force strike after detonating his eighth and ninth soul rings was comparable to a veteran Peerless Douluo's attack, but Di Tian's Dragon God Claw crushed it. 118
Ring Detonation and Great Sumeru Hammer
Tang Hao's signature Clear Sky Sect secret technique detonates soul rings to release their stored energy for a massive temporary increase in attack power.
- Detonated his first six soul rings to force Dugu Bo and Yang Wudi back while escaping with Tang San and Xiao Wu. 111
- A detonated ring disappears for three days; attempting another detonation before roughly thirty-six days risks permanently shattering the ring. 116
- After absorbing Ah Yin's soul bone, Tang Hao believed the technique's previous side effects had vanished, allowing him to use Ring Detonation repeatedly. 116
- Detonating his sixth and seventh rings raised his offensive power to the level of a rank 99 Peerless Douluo. 116
- He later detonated his eighth and ninth rings against Di Tian, but was still decisively defeated. 118
Slaughter God's Domain
Tang Hao possesses the Slaughter God's Domain, which reinforces his killing intent and perception.
- His materialized killing intent caused the long-term injury that led to Ye Shuang'er's death. 158
- Used the domain to sense Dugu Bo's containment formation during their second battle. 116
- Its suppression of souls helped him endure the Human Emperor Banner's mental assault. 116
Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone
Tang Hao replaced his original right-leg soul bone with Ah Yin's 100,000-year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone. 113
- Flight — grants aerial movement. 113
- “Wildfire cannot burn it out; the spring breeze brings it back to life” — regenerates severed limbs, restores the body, and heals injuries. 113
- Allowed him to purge his accumulated poison and hidden injuries after severing his right leg. 113
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Clear Sky Hammer — Tang Hao's martial soul and primary weapon. 116
- 100,000-year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone — Ah Yin's soul bone, providing flight and regeneration. 113
- 50,000-year Earth Armored Dragon right-leg soul bone — his former soul bone; given to Tang San after Tang Hao replaced it. 113
Relationships
- Tang San — son. Tang Hao secretly protected him, personally guided his cultivation, and gave him a 50,000-year Earth Armored Dragon soul bone. 111 113
- Ah Yin — wife, a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor soul beast in human form. Tang Hao kept her consciousness-bearing Blue Silver Grass safe behind a waterfall and absorbed her soul bone to survive. 112 113
- Ling Yun — mortal enemy. Ling Yun holds Tang Hao responsible for both of his parents' deaths and ultimately arranged the confrontation that led to Tang Hao's death. 9 118 158
- Dugu Bo — enemy and repeated opponent. Their second battle ended in a stalemate because neither could finish the other without risking severe consequences. 116 117
- Tang Xiao — elder brother and Clear Sky Sect Master. Tang Hao's pill theft brought public humiliation, compensation demands, and internal blame upon Tang Xiao and the sect. 110 120
- Xiao Wu — Tang San's companion. Tang Hao recognized her as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form and told her to remain hidden until adulthood. 112
Story Role / Major Arcs
Raid on the Falling Cloud Sect
Tang Hao robbed the Suotuo City Falling Cloud Branch Hall of medicinal pills and defeated Ye Wushuang without using his martial soul. Ling Yun identified him through Bagua vision, while Yang Wudi recognized his Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer technique. 109
Ling Yun distributed footage of the raid across the continent and demanded 1.3 million Gold Soul Coins from the Clear Sky Sect. The campaign damaged Tang Hao's reputation by portraying the Clear Sky Douluo as a bully and bandit. 110
Ambush and Recovery
Dugu Bo and Yang Wudi ambushed Tang Hao while he shadowed Tang San and Xiao Wu. Tang Hao detonated six soul rings to break free and escape with them, but the battle aggravated his old injuries and left him poisoned. 111 112
At Ah Yin's hidden sanctuary, Tang Hao severed his own right leg, purged his injuries, and absorbed Ah Yin's 100,000-year right-leg soul bone. He then gave his former 50,000-year soul bone to Tang San. 113
Battles with Dugu Bo
During their second confrontation, Tang Hao broke through to level 96 and used Ring Detonation to gain attack power comparable to a rank 99 Peerless Douluo. Dugu Bo could not safely kill Tang San, while Tang Hao could not freely detonate his hundred-thousand-year ninth ring without endangering his son; the fight ended without a decisive victor. 116 117
Death at the Lost Great Canyon
After Ling Yun located Tang Hao through the Heavenly Secret Divination, Di Tian transported Ling Yun and Dugu Bo to the Lost Great Canyon. Tang Hao initially agreed to compensate the Falling Cloud Sect, but Ling Yun revealed his identity and accused him of causing Ling Feng and Ye Shuang'er's deaths. 117 118
Tang Hao detonated his eighth and ninth soul rings and attacked Ling Yun, but Di Tian's Dragon God Claw overwhelmed him. Tang Hao was killed, while the Asura God's intervention allowed Tang San to escape. 118 158
