Background / History

The Star Luo Empire was forged through the Dai Family’s military strength and the support of martial-minded nobles. Unlike the Heaven Dou Empire, whose foundations are tied to commercial alliances, Star Luo’s rulers built and retained power through warfare, strict central control, and a system that rewards nobility through military merit. 35

Historically, the empire and the Heaven Dou Empire fought seven major Star-Dou North-South Wars. Star Luo initiated five of the first six conflicts, seized territory repeatedly, and once captured Heaven Dou City before withdrawing under resistance from local forces and Martial Soul Hall. 171

Fifty to sixty years before the current events, a brutal succession crisis severely weakened the empire. Star Luo princes possessed equal inheritance rights and were expected to settle their claims through life-and-death struggles. Three rival princes eventually rebelled with their local armies, causing widespread civil war and enabling Heaven Dou to invade. 171

After the rebellion was suppressed, two rebel duke-generals retained enough territory to establish the Aodelan Duchy and Leicester Principality. Their secession—facilitated in part by Heaven Dou and Martial Soul Hall—remains a lasting national humiliation and a central motive behind Star Luo’s expansionist policy. 171

Following decades of recovery, the Star Luo Empire again surpassed Heaven Dou in comprehensive national power, military strength, royal control over the state, and the number of royal-aligned spirit masters.
