Yuhi Shinku did not mind Yuki Yuichi's previous remark, instead saying earnestly, "Genjutsu is the best way to fish in troubled waters openly and honestly."
"It allows the two of you to survive on the battlefield much more easily than other ninja."
Yuki Yuichi looked at Yuhi Shinku in surprise, not expecting that someone who looked so thick-browed and honest would have such a crafty side.
"Why are you staring at me?" Yuhi Shinku asked with a huff, continuing, "From now on, you two are Genjutsu-type ninja."
"Regardless of whether you actually are, that is what you will tell everyone else."
Yuhi Shinku's words left Yuhi Kurenai feeling puzzled, so she raised her hand and asked, "If the goal is to survive, wouldn't being a Medical-nin be better?"
Seeing his daughter's question, Yuhi Shinku sighed; his daughter was truly a simpleton.
"Medical-nin are support personnel; they essentially have no combat capability."
"If they are discovered by the enemy or fall into an ambush, they can basically consider themselves dead."
"But Genjutsu-nin are different. They are standard combatants who simply specialize in illusions. You can hide somewhere on the battlefield and cast genjutsu on others."
"You remain in a safe spot, and no one even knows if you are the one casting the technique."
"If your genjutsu ability is strong enough, you can directly manipulate a weaker enemy into fighting for you."
"Your chances of survival are much higher, and unlike a Medical-nin, you don't lack the ability to defend yourself."
As he spoke, Yuhi Shinku patted his daughter's small head.
"Remember, surviving on the battlefield is the most important thing."
"I cannot look after you two forever, but before that happens, I will teach you the secrets of how to stay alive."
"This is the survival philosophy of a Jonin like me."
"If you see danger, you must stay far away. Do you understand?"
Yuhi Kurenai nodded her head, half-understanding, then looked at Yuki Yuichi, who was nodding frantically beside her.
"Uncle Shinku is right. Let others do the dying; we only care about staying alive."
Yuki Yuichi's words brought a sense of relief to Yuhi Shinku; the child had grown up and finally started to agree with his perspective.
"Alright, training starts tomorrow. Go play now." Yuhi Shinku waved his hand and turned the television back on, leaving Yuki Yuichi and Yuhi Kurenai to their own devices.
Yuhi Kurenai chose to stay at home, while Yuki Yuichi bolted out the door like a dog off its leash.
He had already gained some insight into how his Achievement System was triggered, and now he was going to test it out.
By the time he reached Training Ground Four, not far from the Ninja Academy, there were already seven or eight people there.
"Yuichi!" Might Guy saw Yuki Yuichi approaching and immediately waved his hand happily.
"Over here, over here!"
Seeing Might Guy's antics, the people around them turned to look. Yuki Yuichi glanced left and right before walking over as if nothing were the matter.
This was where they played ninja games. Although some real ninja trained here, there weren't many, and they were long accustomed to the children playing their games.
After all, they weren't the only group playing ninja games here.
Children from the neighborhood were all gathered, with at least four or five clusters of kids visible.
"Guy, long time no see."
Hearing Yuki Yuichi's words, even someone as thick-headed as Might Guy couldn't help but retort.
"It hasn't been a long time at all! We only left each other two hours ago."
Ignoring Might Guy's complaint, Yuki Yuichi scanned the surrounding people and asked curiously, "Where is Kakashi?"
"He went back with Uncle Sakumo."
The one who spoke was Uchiha Obito. He adjusted his goggles and walked out with a grin on his face.
"I don't remember you being here earlier, right?" Looking at the joyful Uchiha Obito, Yuki Yuichi asked curiously.
"That's right." Uchiha Obito nodded. "I am about to take the first step toward becoming Hokage!"
"I will climb to the very top, step by step! I am going to be Hokage!"
Uchiha Obito's voice was loud, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. Some of the ninja training there couldn't help but smile when they heard him.
How nice, they thought. They had once held similar dreams, but as they grew older, they realized those were just dreams.
Dreams were unreachable; ideals were the only things that had a chance of being realized.
Hearing Uchiha Obito's declaration, they all offered him kind, indulgent smiles.
Yuki Yuichi, however, couldn't help but retort, "Are you planning on playing Zhao Gao next?"
"What is a Zhao Gao? That's a weird name." Uchiha Obito clenched his fists, looked at Yuki Yuichi with high spirits, and declared, "I! Uchiha Obito! Challenge you today!"
Yuki Yuichi: "..."
He hadn't forgotten that he was here to test his achievement rewards, so he immediately refused: "No, you can't beat me."
"I don't like bullying the weak."
"You're just afraid to spar with Lord Obito!" Uchiha Obito put his hands on his hips and provoked, "But then again, I am an Uchiha!"
"It's only natural that you wouldn't dare to spar with me."
Seeing him taunt Yuki Yuichi from the side, Nohara Rin couldn't help but worry, "Obito... isn't this a bit much?"
"He's really asking for a beating." Seeing Uchiha Obito's arrogant demeanor, Yuki Yuichi decided he couldn't take it anymore.
To hell with the experimental achievement mission!
"Come on, let's have a go!"
As soon as Yuki Yuichi finished speaking, the few playmates nearby who were preparing to play ninja games immediately stepped back, clearing a space for the two of them.
Uchiha Obito and Yuki Yuichi stood facing each other, simultaneously forming the Sign of Confrontation.
As the sign was completed, Uchiha Obito charged forward without a second thought.
Seeing this, Yuki Yuichi rushed forward as well.
He didn't need any tactics to deal with the young Obito.
Although he didn't remember many things clearly, as a Naruto fan, he remembered the protagonist of this mobile game quite well.
Obito at this stage didn't know any ninjutsu, nor did he know taijutsu, and—well—he didn't even know the Uchiha signature shurikenjutsu.
It could be said that compared to a child from an ordinary civilian family, Obito at this stage only ate a bit better, had refined some chakra, and knew how to read.
Other than that, he was a total loser.
Both of them charged straight at each other, but when they were within three meters, Yuki Yuichi went straight into a sliding tackle.
He hooked one foot behind Uchiha Obito's knees and applied a little force, causing Uchiha Obito to instantly crash to the ground.
Uchiha Obito fell, while Yuki Yuichi stood back up. "You're impressive for having the guts to challenge me, but that's the only thing I can praise you for."
"Damn it!" Uchiha Obito had taken quite a hard fall; his exposed skin had various scrapes, and he stood up while grimacing in pain.
"Stop talking big!"
Uchiha Obito shouted, his face red and his neck veins bulging: "I just wasn't ready!"
"Once I awaken my Sharingan, I'll definitely show you!"
