An Unintentional Truancy

Yuhi Kurenai didn't finish her sentence, but Yuki Yuichi and Kakashi Hatake both knew exactly what she meant.

Yuki Yuichi waved his hand dismissively, "It's fine."

"The worst he'll do is scold us again."

If they could actually learn something new, they wouldn't be skipping class in the first place.

Umino Ikkaku should have been mentally prepared for this.

Yuki Yuichi thought this as he glanced at the back rows, where the descendants of various ninja clans and shinobi families had already arrived.

He refused to believe that previous classes filled with these second-generation ninjas never skipped school.

Training and cultivation were grueling, but compared to sitting here listening to lectures on things he already knew, he would much rather be training.

At the very least, that would make him stronger.

Although he had a system, he wasn't foolish enough to just sit around waiting for system rewards.

Just as his thoughts were swirling and Kakashi Hatake was still hesitating, Sarutobi Asuma walked over and leaned in toward the two of them, "Are you guys skipping class again today?"

"Hm?" Yuki Yuichi was taken aback by the voice, then turned his head to look at this second-generation Hokage descendant who looked a bit like a monkey.

Seeing Yuki Yuichi look at him, Sarutobi Asuma didn't hesitate in the slightest.

"If you guys are skipping, count me in."

"Classes are just too boring; it's all stuff we already know," Sarutobi Asuma said, clenching his fists, his eyes burning with intense fire.

"Instead of wasting time like this, I'd rather go train!"

"I want to become even stronger!"

Hearing his words, Yuki Yuichi agreed immediately, "Alright!"

"Let's go right now!"

Yuki Yuichi's words caught Sarutobi Asuma off guard, and he pointed toward the window, "Right now?"

"Of course!"

"If the teacher gets here, we'll just be wasting more time."

Yuki Yuichi said this, then looked at Yuhi Kurenai and added, "Kurenai, you coming too?"

"Eh?" Yuhi Kurenai pointed at herself with a cute expression, "Me?"

"Yeah," Yuki Yuichi nodded.

Yuhi Kurenai hesitated, "Is that really okay?"

"My dad told us not to cause any trouble at school."

"Uncle Shinku won't take it to heart," Yuki Yuichi said with full confidence.

Seeing this, Yuhi Kurenai thought for a moment, then nodded, revealing a brilliant smile.

"Alright then."

Seeing Yuhi Kurenai agree, Yuki Yuichi took her small hand, opened the window directly, and the two of them jumped down together.

Seeing this, Sarutobi Asuma chased after them without delay.

Kakashi Hatake, who had been hesitating, looked at the backs of the three leaving, gritted his teeth, and followed them as well.

If he was going to get scolded, so be it.

Just like Yuki Yuichi, he would rather be scolded than sit here listening to boring lessons.

Not long after they left, Umino Ikkaku walked out of the office with a smile, clutching his books.

He believed that his guidance yesterday would surely make Kakashi Hatake settle down.

He wanted to finish the literacy and chakra refinement lessons as soon as possible; that was the only way to truly get things on the right track.

With this thought in mind, Umino Ikkaku walked into the classroom.

He placed his textbooks on the desk with a full smile, then habitually scanned the room.

Everyone was being very well-behaved.

But soon, he realized something was wrong.

Several desks were empty.

Umino Ikkaku narrowed his eyes, realizing that something was amiss.

A long moment later, Umino Ikkaku's roar echoed through the classroom.

"Yuki Yuichi, Kakashi Hatake, Uchiha Obito!"

"Is that Uchiha Obito?"

Walking down the road, Sarutobi Asuma saw Uchiha Obito sprinting for his life up ahead and looked surprised.

"Morning, Obito," Yuki Yuichi also saw Uchiha Obito and greeted him with a grin.

Yuhi Kurenai greeted him in return, "Obito, good morning."

Kakashi Hatake didn't say a word, merely fixing him with a dead-fish stare.

Seeing Yuki Yuichi and the other three, Uchiha Obito was taken aback, but upon hearing their greeting, he also broke into a smile.

"Good morning, you four."

Though he said this, he felt a sense of relief wash over him.

He knew he was late, but seeing that Yuki Yuichi and the others were also late, his anxiety vanished instantly.

People are prone to following the crowd, and lateness is no exception.

If he had been the only one late, Uchiha Obito would have been panicking, but with more people involved, he wasn't nearly as worried.

Sarutobi Asuma glanced at Uchiha Obito, assuming he was also skipping class, and invited him, "Together?"

"Together, let's go!" Uchiha Obito, thinking he was being invited to head to the academy, nodded in immediate agreement.

Yuki Yuichi gave the two of them a strange look and cleared his throat, but instead of saying anything else, he simply said, "Let's get going, then."

Seeing Yuki Yuichi's odd expression and recalling how he had previously told her that Uchiha Obito was often late, a similarly strange look flashed across Yuhi Kurenai's face.

Kakashi Hatake had no objections to Uchiha Obito joining them.

He had already resigned himself to his fate; he was going to get lectured by the teacher for skipping class anyway, so with one more person, he might get lectured a little less.

On the way, Uchiha Obito caught his breath, his body still panting from his frantic sprint.

"Let me tell you guys, on my way home yesterday, I saw a cat that could do backflips."

"If you want to see it, you can come over to my place."

He glanced at the four of them, fell silent for a moment, and then added, "My house is actually pretty big."

"No, I don't want to see it at all." Kakashi Hatake walked a little further away.

Although Uchiha Obito's words were directed at everyone, he had been staring right at Kakashi Hatake the whole time, which made him feel quite uncomfortable.

Seeing Kakashi Hatake's reaction, Uchiha Obito stomped his foot, "You hateful mask-wearer!"

"I'll definitely teach you a lesson!"

"I think you could call the Copy Ninja 'Mysterious Masked Man' instead."

Yuki Yuichi leaned in and suggested.

"Hey..." Kakashi Hatake turned his head toward Yuki Yuichi, "I told you not to give me weird nicknames!"

"How about... Dark Kakashi?"

"Pfft..." Sarutobi Asuma couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing upon hearing 'Dark Kakashi'.

"Hahaha, Kakashi, I can't believe you have such a chuunibyou title!"

"If you're Dark Kakashi, then I'll be Justice Asuma!"

Kakashi Hatake fell silent upon hearing this.

Yuhi Kurenai watched Yuki Yuichi from the side with a sweet expression.

It's so nice, Yuichi has made friends again.

Yuki Yuichi hadn't really had any friends before.

Although she didn't know why Yuichi had always been out playing by himself, Might Guy was the only one who could really be called a friend.

He had only met Kakashi Hatake a few days before enrollment.

However, looking at Sarutobi Asuma, Uchiha Obito, and the other three laughing and joking around, she felt genuinely happy.

Yuichi-kun's smiles have been increasing, too.
