Year-End Summary + Leave Request

It's New Year's Eve today, and I wanted to chat with everyone. Updates should resume on the 2nd. I've been very busy these past two days—sorry, everyone!

Before I knew it, I'd been writing this book for nearly a year, from 2021 to the end of 2022. Today is the last day of 2022!

This book was originally expected to end in late October, but unexpectedly, it kept getting delayed until December.

Thank you so much to all the readers who have read this book over the past year or so. It was your clicks and readership that allowed this book to make it through the recommendations.

From a new book to nearly two million words now, I've gained a great deal. It's no exaggeration to say that this book is my first book.

I truly started writing in August 2021, when I began an alternate-history novel on another small site. It hastily fizzled out after three hundred thousand words.

But that book was the stepping stone to my writing career, and it was also my first book. Still, this one is my true first book in every meaningful sense!

I wrote this fanfic on Kunlun at the end of September last year, when inspiration suddenly struck. I figured I'd try to get a contract if I could.

With that mindset, I posted the book on September 29, 2021, which happened to coincide with the seven-day National Day holiday, when the editors weren't working.

That was why I could only submit it for a contract on the 8th, complete the contract process on the 15th, and truly see income from this book on the 17th.
