Background / History

After Uchiha Madara's departure, the clan went without a formal clan head. Kyo Uchiha, Madara's cousin, managed its affairs as Great Elder and maintained the clan's unity throughout that period 6.

The clan possesses an extensive inherited archive of ninjutsu scrolls. Its collection includes techniques and research from defeated clans, Madara Uchiha's Lightning Release notes, and a Yotsuki Clan Lightning Release compendium; the Sharingan's copying ability is cited as a major advantage behind this depth of knowledge 3 4.

During Sarutobi Hiruzen's bid for the Hokage position, Kyo agreed to support him against the Senju faction. In return, he requested Tobirama Senju's Water Release scrolls and Hiruzen's protection of Keigo Uchiha 6. The alliance improved the clan's standing within Konoha, particularly as Keigo's conduct earned goodwill from other clans and villagers 36.

Uchiha Yoichi and the Hawk Faction

Uchiha Yoichi led the Hawk Faction and refused to accept Keigo as Clan Head. He discouraged participation in the Police Force, plotted to undermine Keigo, and aspired to rule both the clan and Konoha 66 67.

Yoichi later awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan after Xiu Uchiha defected to Keigo's side. He attacked Keigo with Tsukuyomi, Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Fire Release techniques, but was defeated. Keigo nevertheless ordered Yoichi buried in the Uchiha cemetery, acknowledging his leadership ability despite his ambition and failures 121 123.
