Background / History

Ao Sheng was an Immortal King of the Immortal Domain. When the Immortal Domain kings sought to meet Su Li in the Primal Ancient Realm, Ao Sheng's strength suddenly surged. He attacked Immortal King Taichu and escalated the standoff between the two realms. 4

The Primal Ancient Realm's Immortal Kings attempted to subdue him through the Kirin Demon-Suppressing Statue. Ao Sheng resisted the combined formation, fought the Ten Fiend Kirin Ancestral God's phantom, unleashed a forbidden seal, and defeated it with Half-Emperor power. He then shattered the statue and fled. 5

His abnormal power was caused by possession: a Weird Quasi-Immortal Emperor's soul had sealed Ao Sheng's original soul deep within his sea of consciousness and used his Immortal King body as a vessel. Quasi-Immortal Emperor Chi Yi captured him, but the possessing soul detached and escaped toward the Boundary Sea. 6

Although left behind as an unconscious vessel, Ao Sheng later shattered his restraints and erupted into darkness. He battled dozens of Immortal Kings, regenerated after losing half his body, and engulfed the Primal Ancient Realm in destructive dark power. 7 8

Chi Yi's Spirit Body ultimately suppressed him and revealed that Ao Sheng had sought more than power: after being used to destabilize the Immortal Domain, he attempted to escape his dark masters and seize the realm for himself. 10 The Immortal Kings later judged him, reduced his cultivation, required reparations and a life-and-death pact, then allowed him to return to the Immortal Domain. 11

Ao Sheng is described as tall and upright, with a resolute, sharply defined face and an imposing, mountain-like bearing. Following his corruption, his appearance becomes twisted and overtaken by decay, black mist, and crimson eyes. 6 7 9

As Dark Ao Sheng, he becomes contemptuous, cruel, and destructive. He regards opposing Immortal Kings as insignificant and believes darkness to be invincible. 8 9 Even after capture, he remains unwilling to submit, though defeat leaves him exhausted and numb. 6 10
