Background

Xiao Yan is Xiao Ze’s fourth brother. After entering the Black-Corner Region, he killed Fan Ling of the Blood Sect and took valuables during an auction-related conflict, drawing the vengeance of Fan Ling’s father, Fan Lao. While fleeing Fan Lao, Xiao Yan used the Buddha Fury Fire Lotus for the first time before Xiao Ze arrived and saved him. 31

Although relieved by his brother’s intervention, Xiao Yan felt inferior beside Xiao Ze’s overwhelming strength. Xiao Ze encouraged him and gave him a Heaven-tier cultivation technique suited to him. 32

Han Feng, who had betrayed and murdered Yao Lao, became Xiao Yan’s principal target in the Black-Corner Region. After Xiao Ze extracted Han Feng’s Sea Heart Flame and left the dying man to him, Xiao Yan personally killed Han Feng in vengeance for his master. 35

Personality

Xiao Yan is determined and willing to take extreme risks when cornered. He lured Fan Lao into the forest rather than submit to pursuit, and he remained at Starfall Pavilion’s front line despite facing several Half-Saints and dozens of Dou Zuns. 31 190

He is deeply loyal to Yao Lao, Starfall Pavilion, and his brothers. Han Feng’s death gave him and Yao Lao a sense of long-delayed retribution, while the Heavenly Underworld Sect’s attack drove him to personally avenge Starfall Pavilion’s fallen disciples. 35 191

Xiao Yan entered the lawless Black-Corner Region, killed Fan Ling, and became the target of the Blood Sect. He survived Fan Lao’s pursuit through Yao Lao’s assistance and Xiao Ze’s timely arrival. 31 32

Following Han Feng’s defeat, Xiao Yan received the traitor’s body from Xiao Ze and personally ended him, avenging Yao Lao. 35
