Background / History

Before the Sky Screen Scroll appeared, the Star Luo Empire relied on its formidable military strength to balance Martial Soul Hall despite having comparatively fewer soul master factions. Its emperor believed the empire could withstand a conventional Martial Soul Hall offensive. The emergence of gods within Martial Soul Hall overturned that calculation. 90

The Star Luo Imperial Family used a highly competitive succession system to select its strongest heir. Ye Mu regarded this internal struggle as harmful to officials and commoners alike, contributing to his poor opinion of the empire's ruling house. 91

The empire and the Heaven Dou Empire had been hostile rivals for thousands of years, contesting spirit master resources and territorial boundaries. Border conflicts occurred regularly, making a Star Luo imperial “state visit” to Heaven Dou highly unusual. 163 182

Loss of Zhu Zhuqing

Zhu Zhuqing’s ascension should have given the empire a divine protector. Instead, she publicly severed ties with both the Zhu Family and the Star Luo Empire, forced the annulment of her engagement to Dai Mubai, and had the marriage contract burned. The empire therefore gained no protection from its only newly ascended god. 113 115 116 131

Failed Search for Protection

Fearing that Martial Soul Hall would target it while sparing Heaven Dou, the Star Luo Empire repeatedly sought Ye Mu’s support. Its envoys were denied entry to Moonlight Pavilion after causing a disturbance, despite offering to satisfy any request Ye Mu might make. 90 130

The Star Luo Emperor then personally traveled to Heaven Dou City under the pretense of a state visit. He bypassed Emperor Xue Ye’s palace and went directly to Moonlight Pavilion, offending Heaven Dou’s court and causing Xue Ye to deliberately keep him waiting. 182 183 194

At Moonlight Pavilion, the emperor was forced to dismount, wait with the crowd, and accept that only people summoned by Ye Mu could enter. His attempt to leverage the Zhu Family’s former connection to Zhu Zhuqing also failed. 184 185

The emperor ultimately proposed an alliance with Heaven Dou, citing the suffering caused by the two empires’ longstanding hostility. Emperor Xue Ye refused to introduce him to Ye Mu or provide meaningful assistance, recognizing that Star Luo alone faced the immediate threat. 197 203

Fall to Martial Soul Hall

Martial Soul Hall declared war on the Star Luo Empire and advanced under Bibi Dong’s command with an army of 100,000. Her divine power carried the force to the border in an hour. Several cities opened their gates rather than resist after Martial Soul Hall promised not to harm commoners. 203 204

• Martial Soul Hall captured twenty cities in a single day while minimizing civilian casualties; resisting cities were swiftly subdued. 205
• Star Luo City assembled 200,000 defenders, including its original 50,000-man garrison and 150,000 reinforcements. Martial Soul Hall nevertheless captured more than thirty cities and reached the capital without losses. 208

Bibi Dong declared that the Star Luo Imperial Family had been destroyed and that the Star Luo Empire no longer existed. She incorporated its territory into the newly established Spirit Hall Empire, retained its capable officials, and moved the capital to Spirit City. 211

Peerless Era Territory Competition

A Star Luo Empire from the Peerless Era enters Ye Mu’s Territory Competition without a Deity or access to Divine Blessing, placing it at a severe disadvantage against the other empires. 323

Ye Mu offered Xu Jiawei’s delegation an opportunity to obtain one divine seat. The delegation demanded additional godhoods and attempted to leave Xu Jiujiu and Xu Yun in the Elegant Chamber to secure further benefits. Ye Mu revoked the offer, judging their behavior greedy and disrespectful. 321 325

The empire then attempted to seek help from Huo Yuhao through Dai Hao. Huo Yuhao refused to provide Divine Blessing or plead for another opportunity, citing both the competition’s rules and the leadership’s responsibility for its own failure. 323 324 325

• The Heaven Dou Empire, Dou Ling Empire, and Spirit Hall Empire all rejected cooperation with the Star Luo Empire. 326
• Against Heaven Dou in the Soul Elder division, Star Luo’s individual competitors were defeated and its team was instantly incapacitated by Xue Ke’s Weakening Domain. 301 302 303
