Background / History
Early life and reputation
Qi Miaoxuan made his name through martial arts in his youth as one of the Nine Righteous of Qing Province. After the group dispersed, he gradually became known throughout the martial world as the Medicine Saint. 180
His past reaches back centuries. During his confrontation with Gu Mo, he stated that he and the Plague God had fought each other for hundreds of years; Gu Mo further connected him to an incident involving the Fire Kirin more than three centuries earlier. 47
Qi later established a secluded residence at Spring God Valley in Qing Province. The residents there are people whose lives he saved and who chose to assist him with medicinal work and daily tasks. 172
Azure Dragon and the He Xu Ruins
Qi Miaoxuan once conducted a ritual within an underground palace to restrain and refine the Azure Dragon, a dragon-like weapon spirit sealed within a black dagger lodged in his heart. He compressed the spirit's cage into an iron sphere and embedded it into his chest. 45
He worked with the Plague God during the conflict surrounding the He Xu Ancient City, though Gu Mo eventually exposed their suspiciously coordinated relationship. Gu Mo severely wounded Qi with detonated sword intent; Qi retaliated, then escaped through a spatial rift after Gu Mo transformed into a divine dragon. 47
During the ensuing conflict, Qi attacked the Fire Kirin in the form of a giant blade and admitted to taking the creature's child. 48 He later accompanied Gu Mo and Ye Jinglan in Mobei, providing knowledge of the He Xu Ruins' forty-year appearance cycle and ten-year dormant period. 51
Physician of the martial world
Qi treated and modified Ye Jinglan's Kirin Blood, maintaining a specially created extreme-yin cold pool to suppress the bloodline's fire. He also possessed Kirin Heart Blood recovered from Ye Nantian. 74 He prepared Soul Soothing Wine to calm Ye Jinglan's unstable Kirin Blood and discussed performing a second-stage modification on him. 84
He was later asked to treat the Second Prince's Azure Spirit Saliva poisoning as repayment for a favor, despite openly disliking involvement in royal succession struggles. 139
Qi agreed to treat Gu Mo's blindness at Spring God Valley after arrangements were made through his connections. 172
Qing Province crisis and reported death
When Divine Weapon Manor was massacred by the Gouchen Demon Blade, Qi recognized the scene as resembling the destruction of Righteous Qi Manor forty years earlier. 179 He subsequently traveled with the coffins of Dharma Master Dingchan and Jade Void Ancestor Yan Xianmei, accepting Gu Mo's protection after realizing Lu Canyang might target him. 180
At Soul Severing Cliff, Qi revived Nangong Yuexi and Zhuo Fanghua after both entered states of feigned death. 182
Qi was later reported dead following the massacre at Listening Pine Manor. His disciple Wu An claimed to have found and buried his body after escaping the attack. 191
Appearance
Qi Miaoxuan is an elderly, white-haired man with a surprisingly well-built physique. He often dresses and behaves like a leisurely old physician, keeping warming wine nearby even in dangerous circumstances. 45 84

Personality
Qi Miaoxuan presents himself as relaxed, lazy, and fond of wine. He openly drags his feet while traveling, sleeps when he pleases, and regularly tells more anxious companions to leave specialized matters to specialists. 51 139
Behind that manner is a pragmatic survivor. When warned that Lu Canyang might seek revenge, Qi immediately chose safety over appearances, distributed emergency pills to Gu Mo's group, and admitted that he had faked his death to escape danger in the past. 180
He is also blunt about the dangers of political service. He warned Gu Mo that entering officialdom would compromise his martial heart, while enthusiastically encouraging him to defeat Su Qianqiu. 138
