Background / History

Scheme against Ah Yin

Tang Wei was enraged when Tang Hao left the sect to be with Ah Yin, whom he regarded only as a soul beast. Believing Tang Hao's talent could elevate the Clear Sky Sect enough to rival Martial Soul Hall, he ordered Tang Feng to arrange Ah Yin's death and use Martial Soul Hall to do it. He specifically ordered his subordinates not to intervene unless Tang Hao faced mortal danger, even if Tang Hao used Ring Detonation, and demanded that the informant who exposed Tang Hao's location be silenced afterward. 22

After Tang Hao returned to the sect, Tang Wei accepted his son's apology and allowed him back. He also accepted Tang San as family only after confirming that the infant was not a soul beast, though he withheld the Young Master position pending the awakening of the Clear Sky Hammer. 26 27

Tang Wei refused Tang Hao's request to rescue Ah Yin, insisting that she had either abandoned Tang Hao or had never loved him. Nevertheless, he supported Tang Hao's plan to seek the Titan Giant Ape's spirit ring, hoping his son would become powerful enough to lead the sect against Qian Xunji. 27

Trade of Tang Yuehua

When Qian Xunji seized the injured Titan Giant Ape outside Martial Soul City, Tang Wei attempted to reclaim it through negotiation. He first offered 100 million Gold Soul Coins, but Qian Xunji instead demanded Tang Weiwei or Tang Yuehua. Tang Wei ultimately chose Tang Yuehua, reasoning that trading his “useless” daughter for a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast would benefit the sect. 30 31

Tang Wei personally knocked Tang Yuehua unconscious at the Heaven Dou Royal Etiquette Academy and delivered her to Martial Soul City without telling her about the agreement. He signed the contract exchanging her for the Titan Giant Ape, treating her sacrifice as a debt owed to the Clear Sky Sect. 31 32

The exchange failed to secure Tang Hao's advancement: the Titan Giant Ape escaped after severely injuring him. Tang Wei swore vengeance on Qian Xunji, then attempted to enter Martial Soul City to demand justice from Qian Daoliu. Leng Lingyuan activated part of the city's Soul-Sealing Array and expelled Tang Wei's group. 33 34

Conflict with Martial Soul Hall

After Qian Xunji abducted Tang Weiwei, Tang Wei led Clear Sky Sect forces in pursuit but failed to recover her. He later confronted Qian Xunji at Martial Soul City's gate and demanded to search the city. Tang Feng persuaded him not to enter, warning that Qian Xunji could frame the Clear Sky Sect and seize its assets. 42 44 45

Tang Chen's return briefly restored Tang Wei's confidence. Tang Wei organized the Clear Sky Sect's army to march on Martial Soul City after Tang Chen promised to recover Tang Yuehua, Tang Weiwei, and Ah Yin. 53 Tang Chen was defeated and imprisoned, after which Martial Soul Hall attacked the Clear Sky Sect. Tang Wei retreated with the surviving sect members to the Star Luo Empire and received the Asura Divine Sword that Tang Chen had sent away before his capture. 55

Tang Wei sought a Clear Sky Sect member capable of gaining the Asura Divine Sword's recognition and inheriting the Asura God's position. After Tang Xiao failed to move the sword, Tang Hao suggested that Tang San might be its chosen bearer. 55 57

Final Stand

During the Justice League's defeat, Tang Wei stayed behind to delay Gui Mei and several pursuing Titled Douluo so Tang Hao could escape. Although he had previously failed to master Ring Detonation, he successfully detonated all nine spirit rings, producing a devastating blast that reached god-level power. He died in the explosion after entrusting the Clear Sky Sect to Tang Hao. 98

Personality

Tang Wei consistently places the Clear Sky Sect's interests above individual lives. He arranged for Ah Yin and her unborn child to be killed for Tang Hao's potential advancement, concealed his role in Tang Yuehua's abduction, and justified selling her as a necessary sacrifice for the sect. 22 31 32

Despite his ruthlessness, Tang Wei cares deeply for Tang Hao. He accepted Tang Hao's return despite his anger, prioritized treating Tang Hao after the Titan Giant Ape incident, and ultimately gave his life to secure his son's escape. 26 33 98
