Background / History

Jiang Ce was originally a man from Earth. After transmigrating, he became a newborn Venom symbiote and parasitized Yan Lingji, using her as his first host and calling her his mount. Their arrival in the unfamiliar world was confirmed when the spirit rings of two slain lizards revealed that they were on Douluo Continent. 1 2

He immediately adapted his growth around the continent's spirit-beast system. By devouring soul beasts, he gained cultivation age, physical strength, mental power, memories, and species-specific abilities; he also fed Yan Lingji 10% of each gain. Recognizing that soul beasts could not become gods, Jiang Ce chose to cultivate Yan Lingji into a God King instead. 2 3

While strengthening Yan Lingji's body and planning her soul-ring configuration, Jiang Ce discovered the Stone Bead she had carried since her village burned. The bead displayed living views of both Xianyang City from The Legend of Qin and Heaven Dou City, later enabling Jiang Ce to cross worlds, summon people, and obtain knowledge from the other world. 4 38

In Sunset Forest, Jiang Ce directed extensive hunts to remove Venom's weaknesses and enhance Yan Lingji. He acquired [Split], secured the Eight Spider Lances for Yan Lingji, discovered the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, and used the area as a base for further cultivation. Jiang Ce expanded beyond Yan Lingji by parasitizing Medusa as guardian of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, bringing Xiaomeng into Douluo Continent as his second mount, and splitting off part of his symbiote to parasitize Na'er. After destroying a Dark Blood Alliance branch and exposing its noble backers, Jiang Ce established Yan Lingji as the public ruler of Heaven Dou. Jiang Ce is confident, possessive, and intensely control-oriented. He establishes himself as the master of his hosts, decides their cultivation paths, and treats their power as part of his own long-term project.
