I'm having trouble sleeping again.
After tossing and turning for hours, I decided to chat with you all.
This should be the first single-chapter post for The Naming of the Night.
This type of story is also something I'm trying for the first time, a protagonist with a background like this.
During interviews, I mentioned that there's a personal experience woven in, but honestly, I'm not like Qing Chen.
What Qing Chen is doing now is more what I want to do but haven't dared to.
So, I often say, when you read novels, don't link the author and the novel together.
The novel is the novel, and the author is the author.
Someone like me is just hiding behind a computer, telling stories for you all.
I once thought about reporting my dad, but I didn't.
I once thought about leaving my hometown, but I didn't either.
I even got scammed out of money by him the year before last.
It wasn't until last year that I finally hardened my heart.
My only advice to you all is: stay away from gamblers.
You don't need to leave comforting words in the comments. I'm not sad about this now, and I don't have many emotional fluctuations.
The reason I'm writing this book, this subject matter.
Is because I find it very interesting.
A group of people time-traveling together, everyone's identity changing – a child becomes a little princess, a rich young master becomes someone from the bottom of society. The dramatic tension that comes from these changes in human nature, when I think about what I'm going to write, makes me happy.
I definitely have a desire to express myself through this story. I like Qing Chen, and I like this story.
So, rather than calling it cyberpunk, I prefer to call it a group transmigration story.
Cyberpunk is just a vessel for it; the real core is the story between people.
One person's desire to express themselves is limited. I've noticed the urge to leave this industry growing.
The long hours of writing have brought on a host of illnesses, and one day I won't be able to bear it.
While writing, when I close my eyes, it's all plot. When I think of a plot point, I have to get up and revise the content, otherwise, I just can't sleep.
I'm not sure how many more stories I'll write. Maybe after a few more stories, I'll take a break and then come back.
Who knows?
The most important thing is to cherish the present.
I've been a slacker with the updates for this entire book, and I haven't updated properly, taking several leave requests. (Of course, even with leave requests, it doesn't detract from the fact that First Sequence is a very awesome story.)
This book probably won't have that issue, unless I get sick, otherwise, I'll stick with it.
My current enthusiasm for writing is like when I was writing The Great King, I could get myself pumped up in minutes.
Of course, I still need to give you a heads-up. As we approach the conclusion, I will definitely slow down the update speed because that's when it gets really tough.
There will be no official presence in this book.
Because this is my passion project, I truly don't want to wake up one day and see a 404 error on the novel's page.
I don't want it to be blocked due to force majeure.
So, I repeat again, there will be no official presence in this book, no official presence.
At most, there will be organizations like Kunlun.
Don't be too confused; it's just my survival instinct at play...
So, if you can understand, and if someone questions it again, please help me explain.
Actually, I've only written 90,000 words for this book, and I'm already feeling emotional.
It inexplicably entered the monthly ticket rankings, and then many old friends suddenly returned.
When those familiar old friends appear, you feel like you're back in those days of fighting side-by-side with everyone, battling on the rankings.
It's so damn exhilarating.
That's all I'll say for now.
I will do my utmost to write a good story.
The rest...
Time will give me the answers.
Thank you all for your support.
Thank you again.
