Countdown 84:00:00.
The Sherpas bridged crevasses and laid paths all the way. By the time they reached Camp C1 at an altitude of 5,900 meters, it was already noon, and the sunlight was blazing.
Nyima carried Qing Chen's enormous mountaineering pack and asked curiously, "Little boss, what's in this bag? Why is it so much heavier than everyone else's...?"
Qing Chen replied with a smile, "Daily necessities."
The Sherpa leader had already instructed them that Nyima did not need to help bridge crevasses or carry oxygen cylinders with the others. He only needed to serve this young little boss well.
After all, whenever the little boss was pleased, his tips came in 100-gram gold bars.
The leader, Mingma, had already realized that they had encountered the sort of truly extravagant guest who "treated money like dirt."
Mingma glanced at the sky. "Camp C1 isn't safe right now. We finally got a weather window, so we'll keep moving straight to Camp C2 at 6,400 meters. We'll set up the kitchen tent there and cook. Someone, carry the little boss up the mountain."
Qing Chen did not know whether to laugh or cry.
According to the usual pace of mountaineers, everyone would set off on the first day and arrive at Camp C1, at 5,900 meters, around noon. By then, they would have nearly exhausted their strength.
So they would rest there for the night before heading for Camp C2 at 6,400 meters the next day.
It was broader and safer there, and the Sherpas had a kitchen tent. All climbers could stay there for a day or two and have some hot food.
But the Sherpas were not as delicate as ordinary climbers. They earned money by risking their lives, so they intended to cover the distance from C1 to C2
