Background / History

The cult was first exposed in Willow Town after a string of eight murders in less than a month. Local authorities believed the discovered cultists represented only a small part of a much larger organization, prompting Lin Zhenwu to remain in the town to prevent its return 37.

In Baiyuan County, the cult infiltrated the Chu Family and the Criminal Defense Division. Its local network included Madam Chu/Wan Yuan, Wu Tian, Zheng Guanxi, Prison Warden Luo Lin, and numerous disguised bailiffs 72 73 107. The death of its Young Master and the exposure of five to six hundred hidden members revealed that the group possessed privately forged armor and had prepared a long-term scheme potentially amounting to rebellion 113.

The cult’s Baiyuan operation relied on more than two hundred armored members concealed underground, alongside infiltrators within the Criminal Defense Division. They intended to use the Blood Fiend Formation to trap and kill Tiger Armor Army commanders Ling Hao and Ji Yong 107. The operation was dismantled, and key members including Elder Qi Huanrong and the local Young Master were killed 110.

Despite these losses, the cult remained active across West Rong Prefecture. It controlled or intimidated major clans, cooperated with the Wolf Totem Tribe, and used that alliance to target the Wind Spirit Tribe and pursue control of West Rong Prefecture 226 245 253. Its influence was reportedly protected by the Prince of North Snow, limiting the Qi Capital’s willingness to openly investigate it 254.

The cult later expanded into the Nine Rong Kingdom, establishing strongholds in lawless border regions such as Zhengxi Town. There, it recruited and controlled civilians through poisoned “Blessing Water,” abducted political targets, and stationed high-level experts, including Blood Envoys and a Scholar with an Origin Artifact 235 236.

Following the apparent death of its Sect Master, Xie Yue and Wolf Totem Tribe representatives were left uncertain over the cult’s future in Pingzhong Prefecture 331.
