The City Called Nightmare

"This place is no longer safe, Boss Chen. I'll wait for you downstairs." Fan Dade spoke at a rapid-fire pace; the footprints in the hallway had rattled him, and the sound of his hurried footsteps descending the stairs echoed through the phone.

"Don't move around. He might be hiding in the hallway. Tell me the size and tread pattern of those shoes..." Before Chen Ge could finish, the call was disconnected.

When people are terrified, they are indeed capable of irrational actions. I just don't know if that's the case for Fan Dade right now.

Putting his phone away, Chen Ge picked up his backpack and stared straight ahead at the road.
