The Intersection of Worlds

"Qiu Mei! Come out and play!"

The girl downstairs waved enthusiastically. A smile lit up her face, and she looked excited, as if something wonderful had happened to her.

The protagonist didn't reply. The camera held on her for a second, portraying her as vacant and even a little cold. Then she closed the window.

That chilly feeling didn't disappear when the window shut. Instead, it lingered around the protagonist. The director's technique was hard to fathom, but this oppressive atmosphere alone already surpassed that of most horror movies on the market.

The cramped room was like a cage. After the window closed, it seemed as if cold seawater rushed in from all around, swallowing the protagonist.

The camera wandered aimlessly around the room. Suddenly, the girl's voice came from behind again.

"Qiu Mei! Qiu Mei!"

The camera slowly turned around. A girl's face was pressed tight against the window. She was pushing so hard that her features had distorted, as if she meant to crush the glass with her face.

"Qiu Mei! Come out and play!"

Her bright red clothes stood out vividly against the cloudy sky, contrasting with it while somehow complementing it, too.

The protagonist lived on the fourth floor. When she'd looked outside just a moment ago, the girl had clearly been standing downstairs.

Such an eerie scene appeared out of nowhere, but the protagonist showed no sign of alarm, as if she were already used to it.

The camera calmly turned toward other parts of the room. Since it was a first-person shot, the camera represented the heroine's gaze.

It passed over the messy desk, then the dirty clothes piled on the floor, and finally stopped at the bedroom door.
