Hiding would only delay the moment their souls were scattered. The monsters in the Blood-colored City didn't need the Will of the Ghost School. To them, everything was edible nourishment.

The Ghost School's front gate slammed against the wall. Black thorns crushed the tall walls on either side, and the man stepped into the school with his left foot. Behind him, the thick red mist spread like a crimson tide.

"This is much easier than I expected."

The dense fog shrouded his body, leaving only a blurry silhouette visible. His head turned slowly, until at last he seemed to look up at the Blood-Colored Mirror overhead.

"Every ghost behind the door is building a hell. You're the only one trying to create heaven." A hint of mockery crept into the man's voice. "If you'd really seen heaven, you wouldn't have been abandoned behind the door."

He stepped forward again. Not a single Vengeful Spirit in the Ghost School came out to stop him—not the wandering ghosts sheltered by the school, nor the red-clothed beings born within it.

More and more cracks appeared across the mirror in the sky. The buildings reflected within it crumbled one after another. Even Lin Sisi and the others couldn't change anything, no matter how hard they tried to hold it together.

"Looks like there's no point holding on anymore." Standing on the top floor of the Experimental Building, Painter watched the East and West Campus crumbling apart, then suddenly raised his hand.
