Attachment and Martial Soul Compatibility

Soul Rings are attached to Martial Souls and provide their users with new Soul Skills and additional soul power through absorption. Ling Feng’s Twin Martial Souls—the Radiant Sacred Dragon and Dark Sacred Dragon—can each bear Soul Rings. 3

• Ling Feng’s Coiling Dragon Staff cannot have Soul Rings attached directly. 3
• When one Sacred Dragon Martial Soul is active, the other remains within the Coiling Dragon Staff. 3
• A ring-equipped Sacred Dragon can carry the staff into its corresponding form, combining beast-Martial-Soul physical power with weapon-Martial-Soul techniques. 3
• The Coiling Dragon Staff amplifies the active dragon form and can increase its own weight and striking power. 3

Acquisition and Condensation

Soul Rings can be acquired from Soul Beasts, condensed through higher powers, or bestowed as rewards.

• Killing a Soul Beast may cause its Soul Ring to rise from the corpse for absorption, as seen with the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon, Radiant Holy Horse, and Golden Dragon Crocodile. 15 16
• A Soul Beast may offer little or no resistance when faced with a compatible dragon bloodline; the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon accepted Ling Feng’s killing blow and allowed its ring to be absorbed. 16

Absorption Limits

A Soul Master’s physical constitution and spiritual power determine the age of Soul Ring they can endure.

• Ten-thousand-year Whale Rubber strengthens the body and lets Ling Feng, Qian Renxue, and Jin Chen attempt rings beyond ordinary limits. 5 7 13
• After consuming Whale Rubber, Ling Feng could withstand a first ring close to 2,000 years, Qian Renxue slightly above 1,000 years, and Jin Chen approximately 900 years. 13
• Ling Feng’s pure-blooded Sacred Dragon Martial Soul gives him unusually abundant vitality and makes refining Whale Rubber far easier than it is for Qian Renxue or Jin Chen. 13

Ring Age Evolution

A Soul Ring’s age is normally fixed once it has been absorbed, but rare powers can alter this rule. 75
