Background / History

When Li Jiuxuan was brought to Skywater Academy by her disciple Shui Bing'er, Shui Yuerong initially refused to admit him because the academy did not accept male students. His Ice Dragon King martial soul and Innate Full Soul Power persuaded her to grant him a three-year residence under strict conditions: he would live separately, use old facilities, receive no official instruction, and protect the academy for thirty years if he ever became a Titled Douluo. 4 5

Despite her outward coldness, she repeatedly rejected Thunder Academy's demands that Skywater hand Li Jiuxuan over. Her policy was to guarantee his safety inside academy grounds while holding him responsible for his own safety beyond them. 13

Shui Yuerong's aversion to men stems from a painful early relationship. As Skywater Academy's celebrated young genius, she fell in love with an ordinary but attentive young man while traveling; the ensuing heartbreak and betrayal shaped her detached demeanor. 14
