Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First Ring — 600 years | 5 6 | Mu Ci absorbs a deep-yellow Azure Vine Soul Ring, exceeding the usual first-ring limit. It raises him to level 13 and grants Healing Aura. |
| Second Ring — 1,700 years | 15 | Mu Ci absorbs a purple Sun Flower Soul Ring, establishing the first recorded thousand-year second ring. It grants a purification domain and reduces Soul Power consumption by 50% under sunlight. |
| Third Ring | 23 58 | Mu Ci’s third ring grants Growth Halo, which accelerates regeneration and toughness of plant-based Soul Power constructs and greatly eases their control. Its source is an earthbound plant Soul Beast with extreme regenerative traits. |
| Fourth Ring — ten-thousand-year tier | 23 58 | Mu Ci publicly reveals a fourth black Soul Ring. It was chosen from a Dark Gold Giant Tree rooted atop a metal vein. |
| Fifth Ring — nearly 50,000 years | 57 | Mu Ci becomes a level 53 Spirit King after absorbing his fifth ring. The black ring grants Drain Aura, derived from an aquatic parasitic plant’s draining talent. |
| Sixth Ring — 100,000 years | 75 | Mu Ci obtains a blood-red ring and the Mystic Deer Golden Horn External Soul Bone. A hundred-thousand-year ring grants two Soul Skills, including Deer Spirit Divine Power, which increases total attributes by 300% for one hour. |
| Ring Fusion | 91 | Mu Ci fuses his first five rings into a single outer blood-red ring; a second inner red ring originates from the Golden Thunder Mysterious Deer’s sacrifice. |
| Black-to-red advancement | 191 | Two of Mu Ci’s originally ten-thousand-year black rings reach the hundred-thousand-year red realm through nourishment by refined natural Soul Power; his first and second rings begin showing red traces. |
| Eighth Ring — over 500,000 years | 192 | A massive red-gold ring with five golden patterns forms after Mu Ci absorbs the Demon Eye Demon Tree’s ring. It belongs to a Fierce Beast exceeding 500,000 years. |
| All Rings — Fierce Beast tier | 212 | Within the Ancient Tree Space, the Divine Deer Golden Horn continually increases Mu Ci’s ring ages. Every one of his rings exceeds 500,000 years; his eighth and ninth rings, from the King of Ten Thousand Demons and Bi Ji, approach one million years. |
Function and Acquisition
Soul Rings are obtained when a Soul Beast dies and its escaping Soul Power condenses into a ring. Mu Ci’s first Azure Vine ring forms as a deep-yellow ring above the Soul Beast’s remains after its death. 5
A Soul Master guides the ring toward their Martial Soul and absorbs its power. The ring can strengthen the Soul Master’s Soul Power and grant a Soul Skill whose nature reflects both the Soul Beast and the Martial Soul’s compatibility. 5 6
- Spirit Masters conventionally require Soul Rings to pass major Soul Power bottlenecks, making the killing of Soul Beasts a foundational part of the established cultivation system. 194
- Ring selection is influenced by Martial Soul compatibility. Mu Ci chooses plant-type Soul Beasts because their vitality and traits better suit the Abundant World Tree. 4
- The Soul Power contained in an absorbed ring can produce substantial immediate advancement; Mu Ci rises directly to level 13 after absorbing his 600-year first ring. 6
- A Soul Ring’s attached skill may be support-oriented, control-oriented, offensive, or otherwise specialized according to the absorbed Soul Beast’s characteristics. 6 23 57
Absorption Limits
| Ring | Conventional reference limit | Documented basis |
|---|---|---|
| First Soul Ring | Approximately 420 years | 16 |
| Second Soul Ring | Approximately 760 years | 16 |
| Third Soul Ring | Approximately 1,700 years | 16 |
| Fourth Soul Ring | Approximately 5,000 years | 16 |
For rings below ten thousand years, the principal limit is the Soul Master’s ability to endure the ring’s Soul Power impact; stronger physical constitution permits absorption of older rings. Beast Martial Souls generally enhance their users’ bodies more than tool Martial Souls, allowing higher tolerances. 16
Soul Beasts above ten thousand years retain substantial soul energy after death. This residual energy can interfere with absorption, creating an additional danger beyond physical endurance. 16
Limit Enhancement
- Whale Rubber — A substance formed in whale-type Soul Beasts that strengthens the body and raises ring-absorption limits after heating and consumption. 3
- Step-by-step consumption — Hundred-year Whale Rubber is recommended before the first ring, thousand-year material before the second, and ten-thousand-year material before the third and fourth rings. This can raise limits by roughly 50–80% compared with Soul Masters who do not consume it. 15
- Soul Bones — High-quality Soul Bones substantially reinforce the body, allowing Mu Ci to safely attempt a 1,700-year second ring after receiving the Dragon Blood Tree King’s left-leg bone. 14 15
- Risk — Excessive ring age can cause a Soul Master to explode and die if their body cannot withstand the influx of power. 5 14
Visual Classification

Special Forms
Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Rings
A hundred-thousand-year Soul Ring differs from ordinary rings by granting its Soul Master two Soul Skills. 75
- Mu Ci’s sixth ring grants Deer Spirit Divine Power, a 300% total-attribute increase lasting one hour. 75
- The same ring also grants Golden Thunder Evil-Breaking. 75
- Blood-red rings exert immense pressure on surrounding Soul Masters and are regarded as highly coveted within the Spirit Master world. 75
Ring Fusion
Ring Fusion combines multiple existing Soul Rings into a new configuration. Mu Ci fuses his first five rings into one outer blood-red ring while retaining a separate inner red ring created by the Golden Thunder Mysterious Deer’s sacrifice. 91
Growing Soul Rings
The Mystic Deer Golden Horn can absorb natural Soul Power and convert it into increased Soul Ring age. Mu Ci estimates that this process can add several thousand years to his rings in ordinary environments. 75
Within the Ancient Tree Space, this growth becomes continuous; by the later period, all of Mu Ci’s rings surpass 500,000 years. 212
God-Bestowed Soul Rings
A God-Bestowed Soul Ring is formed from divine power and Faith Power rather than a slain Soul Beast. Its age depends on the recipient’s endurance, and a recipient capable of persevering may obtain a hundred-thousand-year ring. 96
- It can grant a Soul Skill suited to the recipient’s desires. 96
- Shui Bing’er and Shui Yue’er each receive one through the Ice God. 96 97
- Absorbing divine power before the ring can maximize the recipient’s gains. 96
Self-Condensing Spirit Rings
Transformed Soul Beasts can naturally form their own rings after reaching the appropriate level. Mu Ci identifies two requirements:
- Bloodline talent supplies the material basis for the ring.
- Sealed ten-thousand-year Soul Power origin supplies the energy.
These elements combine under the laws of the Douluo Continent to create a self-condensed ring. 195
Mu Ci concludes that humans possess a corresponding bloodline foundation through their Martial Souls and could potentially self-condense rings by supplementing the necessary energy externally. 195
Qian Renxue publicly demonstrates this system by condensing a golden-red ninth Self-Condensing Spirit Ring and advancing to level 91 without hunting a Soul Beast. 203
Known Soul Ring Abilities
Healing Aura
Mu Ci’s first Soul Skill creates a healing domain with an initial five-meter radius. Its healing strength scales with Soul Power output, its range grows with cultivation, and Mu Ci can exclude chosen targets from its effect. 6
- He uses it to treat plague victims across a village. 9 11
- By using Path Power to lead the ring’s activation instead of relying solely on his Martial Soul, he improves the skill’s efficiency. 11
Purification Domain
Mu Ci’s second Soul Skill continuously purifies negative conditions within its domain. It cannot remove all negative effects instantly, but sunlight halves its Soul Power consumption. 15
Growth Halo
Mu Ci’s third Soul Skill improves plant-based Soul Power constructs within its area of effect. 23
- Accelerates regeneration.
- Increases toughness.
- Reduces the difficulty of controlling constructs; one unit of Soul Power can control ten or more plants instead of one.
- Reaches a 50-meter radius by Mu Ci’s four-ring stage before Abundance Power amplification. 23
Drain Aura
Mu Ci’s fifth Soul Skill inherits the parasitic draining ability of a rare aquatic plant Soul Beast. 57
Concealment and Detonation
Soul Masters may hide their rings as long as they do not use Soul Power beyond a certain threshold. Mu Ci has mastered this concealment technique but reveals his rings when high-output combat makes concealment impractical. 91
Soul Ring Detonation forcibly releases a ring’s stored power. Tang Hao detonates Ah Yin’s hundred-thousand-year ring to fuel the Great Sumeru Hammer, producing an attack comparable to a peak level-97 Douluo’s full-force strike, but leaving his remaining Soul Power dangerously depleted. 73
