The Daimyo governs the Land of Fire from the capital's Daimyo Palace. His authority extends over Konohagakure: he provides its funding, can directly appoint the Hokage, and must consent to the office's succession 74.

• Daimyo / Feudal Lord — Supreme political and military authority. Initially maintained cordial ties with the Land of Whirlpools after Uzumaki Shori protected him from an attempted replacement 75 78.
• Prime Minister — Directed wartime conscription, weapons distribution, and the capital's defense after the Military Pier campaign 237 240.

Its capital is a major commercial and technological center, with high-rise buildings, constant merchant traffic, and a concentration of wealthy merchants and technical talent. Its scale and resources surpass those of Konohagakure 74.

• The Daimyo Palace reflects a dynasty that has ruled for nearly a thousand years 74.
• The country became the Land of Whirlpools' largest market for Sealing Scroll Phones, generating enormous revenue for Uzushio 143.
• Konohagakure depends on the Land of Fire for funding and supplies, a dependency later used to restrict the village's autonomy 74 203.

Military Forces and Technology

Conventional Army

The Land of Fire maintains a large conventional force separate from Konohagakure. Before the war with the Land of Whirlpools, it fielded at least 250,000 soldiers, excluding reserve forces 203.

• Soldiers were equipped with Exoskeleton Armor, tanks, machine guns, aircraft, rocket launchers, and Chakra Cannons 203 233.
• The capital conscripted civilians and distributed weapons after the frontline army's defeat 237.
• Land of Wind and Land of Earth forces later reinforced the capital's defenses 240.

Air Force

The Land of Fire developed two major aircraft types for its war against the Land of Whirlpools.

• Firebird Bombers — Coastal patrol and reconnaissance bombers equipped with decoy flares and parachutes for pilots 221 222.
• Fire Hawk Fighter Planes — The primary fighter force, deployed in layered encirclement formations with onboard cannons 225.
• Both aircraft types were decisively outmatched by the Land of Whirlpools' Fire Ant Fighter Jets and their longer-range air-to-air missiles 224 226.

National Air Defense System

The palace Onmyoji created a thin chakra perception barrier covering the entire country. Linked to Land of Fire computers, it was designed to detect intruding targets and direct missile strikes against them 210 220.

• The system included anti-aircraft autocannons, rocket forces, defensive barriers, and aircraft stationed at the Military Pier 222 224.
• Modified sealing techniques allowed the Land of Whirlpools' forces to evade the barrier's detection during the opening attack 223 224.
• The Land of Fire later used artificial smoke and dust to blind enemy satellites and disrupt long-range missile targeting 238.

History

Relations with the Land of Whirlpools

Uzumaki Shori's convoy entered the Land of Fire while returning from Konohagakure. The Daimyo welcomed the party with a banquet, recognizing Shori as the son of the Land of Whirlpools' Daimyo and observing diplomatic etiquette 74.

During the banquet, an intruder with the Daimyo's face attempted to replace him. Shori intervened, and afterward the Daimyo granted the Land of Whirlpools a plot in the capital for future use 75. Shori departed after the culprit was apprehended, stating that the Land of Whirlpools had no interest in the Land of Fire's affairs 78.

Relations deteriorated when Konoha's Root sought to nationalize Sealing Scroll Phones within the Land of Fire and redirect their profits to Konohagakure. The Daimyo initially refused due to Shori having saved his life, but agreed to consider the proposal on security grounds 156.

Daimyo Alliance

After the Land of Whirlpools conquered the Land of Water, the Land of Fire convened the Daimyo of Wind, Lightning, and Earth. The four rulers feared that a nation founded by ninja had overthrown a daimyo and could undermine their own authority 180.

The alliance shared technology and talent, accelerated weapons development, and prepared to equip millions of soldiers with firearms, cannons, rocket launchers, and exoskeletons 180. It subsequently sanctioned the Land of Whirlpools, banning its goods, merchants, Sealing Scroll Phone base stations, and phone use 181.

The Land of Fire also cut Konohagakure's supplies and funding while its own forces trained with tanks, machine guns, and aircraft 203.

War with the Land of Whirlpools

The Land of Fire's envoy attempted to force the Four Great Hidden Villages into attacking the Land of Whirlpools. Uzumaki Shori instead declared war on the Four Great Nations, while the hidden villages refused to participate 217 218.

Enraged by the diplomatic failure, the Feudal Lord ordered General Miyamoto to mobilize the Land of Fire's army against the Land of Whirlpools 219.

The conflict opened with the destruction of Firebird reconnaissance bombers and missile strikes against the Military Pier. Although anti-aircraft guns and rocket forces intercepted some incoming missiles, the national perception barrier had failed to provide warning 222 224.

The Land of Fire's Fire Hawk formations suffered a complete rout against Fire Ant Fighter Jets. Their air force failed to destroy a single enemy aircraft, and its surviving planes were ordered to retreat or be abandoned 226 227.

The Military Pier camp was then struck by successive surface-to-ground missile barrages. Command links with Land of Wind and Land of Earth formations collapsed after their command trains were separately destroyed by the Land of Whirlpools' air force 231 232.
