Times had changed. For Sem and Gri, the idea of exploring the super ruin no longer held the same irresistible pull it had a few days ago.

The penniless were the ones with the greatest fighting spirit, but the two of them were no longer penniless. Zhang Tie had kept his promise. From that huge pile of Stones of Immortality he had found, he chose the two largest and finest jade plaques and gave them to them. Though both felt terribly embarrassed, under Zhang Tie's insistence, they accepted the "reward" he had promised them.

Golden Roc Bank had valued the two Stones of Immortality in their hands at over forty thousand gold coins. Without hesitation, they sold them to Golden Roc Bank. Now, each carried banknotes worth more than forty thousand gold coins—a "vast sum" neither of them had ever dared dream of. And so, they hesitated.

Over the past two days, while wandering about with Zhang Tie, they had also seen the corpses of Prospectors who had been killed by someone unknown. Those bodies had jolted them awake, making them suddenly feel the hidden currents and peril swirling through these ruins.

Both Sem and Gri knew their own strength very well. As two people not even at Level 6, they knew that if they had not come down here with Zhang Tie this time, then even if they had discovered Stones of Immortality, they would not have lived to bring them back up. Never mind anyone else—once it became known that they carried such wealth, any handful of scum among the Prospectors could swallow them whole, not even leaving the bones. Such things were all too common among Prospectors.

And now, their gains had already surpassed what they had expected from discovering a super ruin. That made them hesitate.
