The moment Zhang Tie left the Castle of Black Iron, he appeared underwater. His eyes widened as he held his breath and looked around at his surroundings. If Heller had not already told him that he would appear in water after leaving the Castle of Black Iron and warned him not to be startled, he might have choked the instant he emerged.
There were undercurrents in the water, stirred by the flowing current of the underground river. It was already deep into the night, yet under Zhang Tie's Dark Vision, everything beneath the water remained crystal clear. He saw schools of tiny fish swimming above his head, as well as a lush patch of aquatic grass drifting along the bottom beside him. After looking around and confirming that there was indeed no one in the water, Zhang Tie pushed off with his feet, clutching the bundle wrapped in waterproof oilcloth, and floated up from the riverbed.
Over the years, as he advanced to level nine, some of the Castle of Black Iron's spatial abilities had been released further. Heller had established a Spatial Passage here beneath the water and in the Pool of Chaos, allowing the underground river's water to flow endlessly into the Pool of Chaos, bringing a massive energy reserve to the Castle of Black Iron. That was why the Castle of Black Iron had been able to expand in area. If not for the concern that making the Spatial Passage too large and absorbing too much water would cause strange phenomena in these waters, the area the Castle of Black Iron could expand into would have been many times greater than it was now.
Even so, Zhang Tie was satisfied, because he had discovered a way to rapidly increase the Castle of Black Iron's Basic Energy Reserve.
