The convoy of off-road vehicles tore through the yellow sands, kicking up clouds of dust.
The convoy consisted of fifteen vehicles in total, but in truth, only four carried passengers. The other eleven had only a driver each, with all additional carrying capacity devoted to hauling supplies.
Aside from a few necessary odds and ends, all the remaining cargo space was packed with food, water, and gasoline.
In short, Zhao Cheng's group had come thoroughly prepared.
Even if ten of the fifteen vehicles broke down, the remaining five would still be enough to get them safely out of the desert.
Moreover, the fifteen drivers were not merely drivers—they were also professional auto repair experts. Their swordsmanship was decent as well, enough for them to serve as bodyguards. Most importantly, every one of them had extensive experience driving in the desert. They were all seasoned hands.
Over the years, as material life had grown increasingly abundant, more and more young people had come to enjoy adventure. Deserts, snow-capped mountains, wildernesses—the more perilous the place, the more it drew people in. Such people generally were not short of money, so someone sharp-eyed had naturally spotted a business opportunity.
The only issue was that ordinary convoys generally consisted of five or six vehicles, while smaller ones had merely three to five. Zhao Cheng's group had only eight members yet had brought fifteen vehicles. That was truly rare—cautious to an outrageous degree.
Of course, the cautious one was not Zhao Cheng, but the rich man in the group.
Aside from the drivers, Zhao Cheng's party consisted of Zhao Cheng himself, Susan's group of four, Professor Jetev, Professor Jetev's daughter Xuela, and one of the professor's friends, Huo Lei—eight people in total.
Of them, Xuela was a Swordsman, while Huo Lei was a Sword Master.
