A Snowfall

The next morning, the group set out at dawn. By noon, however, the convoy suddenly slowed down because it had begun to snow.

It seemed incredible, even contrary to common sense, yet it was truly happening.

And this was not even the first case. Years ago, snow had fallen in several deserts.

Over the past few years, the climate across the entire world had become highly abnormal.

Some places suffered relentless droughts, where even the depths of winter did not feel cold, while in others, heavy snow fell during summer.

The previous cases of heavy snow in deserts had all occurred in summer as well.

This abnormal climate had also given rise to many rumors and wild tales.

In the past, such weather would have meant a year of great calamity, and famine in many places would have been nothing unusual.

Fortunately, times were different now. Supplies were abundant, so things would not come to that.

Still, worry was unavoidable. If such abnormal weather continued for long, the future would be hard to predict.

Dark clouds blanketed the sky, blocking out the sunlight and causing the temperature to plummet.

At first, only rain fell. But gradually, the rain turned into snowflakes, which steadily grew heavier, while the temperature became colder and colder.

Before long, the boundless sands were covered in a pristine white layer.

"OMG!"

Many of those present exclaimed in amazement, whether they believed in gods or not.

It was not as though they had never heard of snow falling in the desert, and they had even seen a few photographs. But hearsay and seeing it with their own eyes were entirely different things.
