Background / History
Tang Hao lived in concealment at a blacksmith shop in Holy Soul Village while secretly watching over Tang San. He drove a century-old Datura Snake toward Tang San so that the boy could obtain a century-level first spirit ring, but chose not to intervene when Tang San handled Yu Xiaogang's poisoning himself. 10
Because Tang San had cultivated independently since childhood and displayed unusual abilities, Tang Hao once suspected that he was not his biological son and treated him poorly. Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer martial soul ultimately confirmed his parentage as the son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin. 10
After learning that soul beasts had vanished, Tang Hao rushed to the place where he had hidden Ah Yin's Blue Silver Emperor seed, only to find it missing. Believing that a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in human form might have survived, he searched for Xiao Wu in hopes of confirming that Ah Yin was alive. 10 27
During his investigation, Tang Hao learned that the soul beasts had not merely disappeared but had died simultaneously, their bodies destroyed from within and their soul rings dissipated. He killed a soul master who confirmed this account, but continued to deny Ah Yin's likely death. 23 25
He learned that Tang San had traveled to Martial Soul Hall with Yu Xiaogang, but refused to enter the organization himself, fearing that his presence could expose Tang San's identity and endanger him. 27
Unable to accept Ah Yin's apparent death or Tang San's association with Martial Soul Hall, Tang Hao exiled himself to Slaughter City, where he became a drunk and recluse. His suspicions about Tang San also resurfaced when Tang San's cultivation became stalled, causing him to question whether the boy's soul truly belonged to his biological son. Xiao Wu's performance in the Hell Slaughter Arena briefly drew him out of his stupor. 74
Tang Hao confronted Xiao Wu after recognizing her as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit and demanded information about Ah Yin. Su Mo induced him to surrender Ah Yin's Blue Silver Emperor Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone in exchange for the truth, then revealed that Ah Yin had died after sacrificing herself and becoming a seed eleven years earlier. 75
Enraged, Tang Hao pursued Su Mo into a void space, where Su Mo repeatedly provoked him into using his Clear Sky Sect techniques. After being imprisoned there while Su Mo analyzed and copied his abilities, Tang Hao detonated all of his soul rings and attempted to self-destruct rather than allow his Soul Bones to be taken. Su Mo prevented the attempt, killed him, and claimed the six Soul Bones that emerged. 76 77 90 91
Appearance
By the time of his search for Ah Yin, Tang Hao had grizzled black hair and a weary, hunched appearance. In Slaughter City, he appeared as a disheveled old man whose dangerous aura remained apparent despite his drunkenness. 27 74
- Radiates a chilling, baleful pressure when agitated. 27
- His eyes become bloodshot in battle or rage. 90
- After repeatedly using Ring Detonation, his body became badly split and soaked in blood. 91
Personality
Tang Hao is intensely devoted to Ah Yin and Tang San, but his love turns into denial, desperation, and violence when he believes either is threatened. He refuses to accept the extinction of soul beasts as proof of Ah Yin's death and clings to Xiao Wu's survival as evidence that Ah Yin might still live. 23 25 27
His protectiveness toward Tang San is complicated by his earlier suspicion that Tang San was not his son. Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer initially confirmed their bloodline and led Tang Hao to accept him as his child, but Tang Hao's doubts later resurfaced due to Tang San's unexplained abilities and stalled cultivation. He nevertheless avoided Martial Soul Hall specifically to prevent exposing Tang San to danger. 10 27 74
In combat, Tang Hao is fierce and overwhelmingly powerful, yet his grief makes him reckless. Su Mo exploits his anger, regret, and obsession with failing to protect Ah Yin and Tang San to force him into revealing his strongest techniques. 76 90 91
