Background

Gu Yue created Na'er as an avatar and sent her to follow Yu Tianshuo after Di Tian reported his unusual Dragon King auras. Gu Yue intended for Na'er to test him and, eventually, influence him through emotional attachment. 38 42

Na'er abruptly entered Yu Tianshuo's life when she crashed into the carriage carrying him and Dugu Bo. Yu Tianshuo identified her as the Silver Dragon King's avatar after her Silver Dragon Spear manifested to resist his Dragon Might. 40

Initially, Gu Yue communicated through Na'er to investigate Yu Tianshuo and negotiate in his sea of consciousness. Yu Tianshuo nevertheless chose to keep Na'er at Dugu Manor, both as a connection to Gu Yue and as someone he could watch closely. 41 42

After conveying Gu Yue's message, Na'er developed a childlike demeanor and became strongly attached to Yu Tianshuo. She spends much of her time playing with Dugu Yan and seeking Yu Tianshuo's attention, though he remains cautious that her behavior could be an act. 42

Personality

Na'er begins as quiet, emotionally distant, and difficult for Dugu Bo and Dugu Yuan to understand. Her early actions are often directed by Gu Yue, including approaching Yu Tianshuo to establish a private conversation. 41

While living among humans, she becomes innocent, playful, and openly affectionate. She regularly clings to Yu Tianshuo, asks him to pet her head, plays with Dugu Yan, and tries to comfort him when he is troubled. 42 44 58

Despite this childlike presentation, Na'er can be ruthlessly decisive in battle. When facing Yu Tianheng, she casually considers lethal options before choosing to restrain herself because the fight is taking place in a public tournament. 51

Na'er also shows growing independence from Gu Yue. Her soul connection with Gu Yue reveals her conviction that Yu Tianshuo will become another Dragon God, causing Gu Yue to fear that Na'er may no longer be on her side. 84
