Background

Lu Ming transmigrated into the body of the young Uchiha Obito, retaining knowledge of the original world's future while inheriting Obito's memories and Mangekyō Sharingan. He immediately rejected the Ninja Academy route, reasoning that it would only steer him toward Obito's original tragedy with Kakashi and Rin. Instead, he chose to exploit the Uchiha clan's wealth and the card-drawing system to secure power quickly. 1 2

Obito approached Fugaku with an assessment of the Uchiha–Konoha conflict, arguing that a coup would ruin the clan even if it succeeded. He then revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan, demanded three hundred million ryō, and invoked Uchiha Madara's name as supposed backing to pressure Fugaku into supporting him. 3 4

Following Danzō's assassination attempt, Obito killed Aburame Torune, staged his own injury, publicly confronted Danzō, and used the incident to become a central political voice within the Uchiha clan. His agreement with the Third Hokage traded restraint over the clan for official support of his commercial ventures. 11 14 15

Appearance

After adopting a new style in Konoha, Obito has medium-length black hair and sharp black eyes. As he grew older, he adopted a black robe and white outer coat modeled after Tsunade's clothing, marked with a white “One” on its back. 6 18

  • His activated Mangekyō Sharingan bears a three-sickle shuriken pattern. 3
  • His Susanoo chakra is deep blue and can form wings for flight. 86
  • His compressed Susanoo manifests as dense chakra armor rather than a giant warrior. 56 158
  • In Sage Mode, his eyes and robes become pale gold and gain flowing, fine patterns. 199
  • After fusing with the Ten-Tails, he wears a white robe with nine magatama and carries black Truth-Seeking Orbs. 206

Personality

Obito is calculating, ambitious, and highly conscious of political leverage. He sees wealth, public opinion, industry, intelligence, and powerful subordinates as tools for reshaping the shinobi world, rather than relying solely on individual strength. His early strategy toward the Uchiha clan was explicitly built around exchanging their money and protection for his own rapid growth. 2 7

He is also manipulative and willing to deceive allies or enemies when it gives him an advantage. He used Madara's name to influence Fugaku, staged an injury to gain Tsunade's sympathy after killing Torune, and repeatedly recruits people by appealing to their obsessions, such as Orochimaru's pursuit of immortality and Kakuzu's greed. 3 11 27 108

Despite his arrogance and occasional carelessness, Obito learns from failure. His encounter with the Evil God taught him that knowledge of the original timeline could make him overconfident, leading him to seek further power more cautiously. 26 33

Abilities & Skills

Mangekyō Sharingan and Kamui

Obito possesses an Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan with both variants of Kamui, granting him extraordinary offense, defense, mobility, and dimensional control. 1 83

  • Kamui (Right) — Phases his body into the Kamui Dimension to evade attacks and absorbs targets upon physical contact. Its original continuous intangibility limit was five minutes; the +1 upgrade extended it to six. 1 83
  • Kamui (Left) — Warps distant targets into another dimension and permits dimensional entry and exit. The maximum object size depends on his chakra reserves. 1 196
  • Fire Style: Blast Wave Wild Dance — Combines spatial distortion with a rotating fire serpent to create a massive spiraling inferno. 1 196
  • Kamui can be pressured by high-intensity, wide-range, sustained attacks. 40

Susanoo and Strength Enhancement

Obito can summon Complete Body Susanoo, a colossal armored chakra warrior with overwhelming offensive and defensive power. Against Isobu, its normal form stood nearly 180 meters tall. 14 92

  • Complete Body Susanoo — Used for large-scale combat, direct clashes with Tailed Beasts, and battlefield domination. 41 62 92
  • Perfect Susanoo — Can be broken by an opponent with sufficient power and superior space-time mobility; its enormous size reduces agility. 34
  • Compressed Susanoo — A high-density chakra cloak developed from Susanoo, Lightning Armor principles, Rasengan principles, and Strength Enhancement; it improves agility against fast opponents. 56
  • Strength Enhancement — Reinforces his physical power enough to contend directly with techniques such as Kurotsuchi's Super Added-Weight Rock Technique. 34 165
  • Integrated Susanoo — Later merges Susanoo more directly with his body, allowing Ryujin Jakka and Flying Thunder God mobility to be used together. 158

Ryujin Jakka

Ryujin Jakka is Obito's primary weapon and one of his most destructive powers. Its flames are treated as distinct from ordinary Fire Release chakra. 4 29 30

  • Shikai — Used to deploy techniques including Castle Wall Flame Prison and Infernal Hell against Orochimaru. 29
  • Bankai — Powerful enough to annihilate Black Zetsu. 50
  • The sword is an external weapon and can become a liability if an opponent disarms him. 34 134

Advanced Genjutsu

Obito's ocular techniques include several high-level genjutsu acquired through extracted character-card abilities. 196

  • Tsukuyomi — Drags a target's spirit into an illusionary world where Obito controls time, location, mass, and the inflicted physical and mental pain. 196
  • Kotoamatsukami: Radiance — Releases golden light that drags a target's spirit into an illusionary space and reduces it to ashes; its description states that no power can resist the genjutsu within that space. 195 196
  • Tailed Beast control — Used Mangekyō ocular power to break Isobu's will and control it before sealing it in the Kamui Dimension. 92

Space-Time and Sensory Techniques

Beyond Kamui, Obito has expanded his mobility and awareness through additional system-derived abilities. 83 196

  • Flying Thunder God Technique — Uses formulae placed on targets or objects to teleport himself and chakra-connected objects instantly. 196
  • Mantra — Detects nearby auras outside his field of vision, predicts movement, and functions as a form of mind-reading or “power of hearing.” 83
  • His space-time perception allows him to sense shifts in the surrounding fabric of space. 34

Sage State and Ten-Tails Power

Obito fused senjutsu from Mount Myōboku after studying the three sacred lands' sage arts. 197 198

  • Intermediate Sage State — Raises physical attributes and skill power by 60%, enables rapid healing through senjutsu energy, and allows independent natural-energy absorption. 198
  • Child of the World — A passive gained through Sage State that reduces damage received in the world by 30%. 198
  • Ten-Tails fusion — Grants Truth-Seeking Orbs and a far greater level of power than his prior Sage Mode alone. 206 207
  • His strongest recorded state combines Ten-Tails power, senjutsu-enhanced Susanoo, Truth-Seeking Orbs, and Flying Thunder God movement. 207

Summoning

Obito pursues summons for support, mobility, and access to senjutsu traditions. 33 35

  • Uchiha Kaguya — A powerful long-haired rabbit summon who later takes the form of a young Kaguya-like girl; she entered a Blood Contract with him after their battle. 34 35
  • Katsuyu — A healing summon capable of splitting into smaller bodies, restoring chakra, and using corrosive acid. Obito can summon a body twice the size of Tsunade's summon. 35
  • Madara — Keeps a cat-like entity named Madara in the system's pet menu. 83

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Ryujin Jakka — Gold-quality Zanpakutō and Obito's principal weapon. 4 5
  • System character cards — Used to gain attributes, abilities, upgrades, and extracted skills. 1 36 196
  • Demonic Statue of the Outer Path — Taken from Madara's base and stored through Kamui. 50
  • Flying Thunder God formulae — Required for his Flying Thunder God Technique; he intended to prepare marked weapons for convenient deployment. 135

Relationships

  • Tsunade — Lover and political bridge between Obito and Konoha's leadership; she treated his staged wound after Torune's assassination attempt and later aided his pursuit of summoning and sage arts. 11 31 33
  • Rin Nohara — Childhood friend for whom Obito develops romantic feelings; she later manages much of his administrative workload and becomes Kage of New Hidden Village. 5 108 167
  • Uchiha Fugaku — Initially Obito's target for funding; Fugaku eventually accepts Obito's de facto control of the Uchiha clan. 3 46 59
  • Uchiha Shisui — Obito's protégé, right-hand man, and Second Division captain; Obito entrusts him with high-risk political and military missions. 46 50 61
  • Uchiha Itachi — A younger Uchiha trained within Obito's organization; initially reserved as Third Division captain and later assigned Anbu duties. 18 50 167
  • Uchiha Zetsu — Former White Zetsu appointed Captain of the Eighth Division and later Intelligence Minister; his connection to one hundred thousand Zetsu makes him central to Obito's intelligence network. 50 86 167
  • Orochimaru — A mutually useful but hostile associate. Obito exploits Orochimaru's obsession with immortality and research while employing him as Science and Technology Minister. 27 30 103 167
  • Kakuzu — Recruited through promises of massive financial projects; serves as chief financial officer, Commerce Minister, and key architect of Obito's banking plans. 108 109 167
  • Mei Terumī — Initially captured after attempting to protect her allies; later becomes one of Obito's intimate partners and the mother of his daughter Qing. 87 129 154
  • Uchiha Madara — Offered Obito succession and the Eye of the Moon Plan before dying. Obito rejected becoming his pawn and seized Madara's statue and corpse. 48 50
  • Black Zetsu — An enemy Obito attempted to destroy immediately after Madara's death, later annihilating it with Ryujin Jakka's Bankai. 48 50
  • Uchiha Kaguya — A Blood Contract summon whom Obito treats as a younger sister. 34 35

Story Role / Major Arcs

Rise within the Uchiha Clan

Obito leveraged his Mangekyō Sharingan, Madara's name, and the threat of Konoha's anti-Uchiha policies to secure Uchiha funding and political support. After exposing Danzō's assassination attempt, he became the clan's primary pillar of strength and influence. 3 14 15

Conflict with Danzō and Amegakure

He pursued Danzō to Amegakure to prevent the original timeline's destruction of Akatsuki, defeated Danzō, killed Hanzō, and offered future aid to Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan. 39 41 43

Madara's Death and Zetsu's Defeat

Obito met the dying Madara, learned of the Eye of the Moon Plan and the Ten-Tails, and immediately turned on Black Zetsu rather than accept Madara's succession. He later annihilated Black Zetsu, recruited White Zetsu, and seized the Demonic Statue. 48 50

Third Shinobi World War

Leading more than six hundred Uchiha shinobi, Obito used mobile, squad-based guerrilla warfare against Iwagakure. He personally devastated Iwa's forces and killed Kitsuchi, with the resulting destruction of a 6,000-man army shocking the shinobi world. 60 61 62 63

Founding New Hidden Village

Obito integrated forces from Amegakure, Kusagakure, the Uchiha clan, and his recruited specialists into New Hidden Village. He appointed Yahiko and Pakura as assistants while using Sasori, Orochimaru, Kakuzu, Zetsu, Rin, and others to build military, technological, financial, and administrative institutions. 68 101 167

Tailed Beast Collection and Global Expansion

Obito captured Isobu and Saiken, directed operations against other jinchūriki, and continued building the power needed to obtain the Ten-Tails. His eventual Ten-Tails fusion placed him at a level where he could confront the White Snake Sage directly. 92 110 160 206 207
