The Return of Shinichi Kudo

"Ding-dong! Ding-dong—!"

"Ding-dong, ding-dong!"

Ran Mouri wore a serious expression, occasionally looking up at the residence before her while pressing the doorbell without hesitation.

She looked fairly composed, but hearing those warped chimes that could hardly be called crisp, she still felt quite nervous.

The Kudo Residence's doorbell had broken down and gone out of tune long ago, ever since its owner had been away for so long.

Conan had known about it for ages, but the house had indeed been temporarily useless, and there had been no reason to repair it. So even though the full-sized Kudo had temporarily returned, what was broken was naturally still broken.

And listening to that off-key doorbell... it felt as if the house were still empty, as if everything were only her brief dream.

"Alright, who is it? You're making a racket!" Before Ran Mouri could press the bell again, the front door was yanked open, and Shinichi Kudo stood there with a face full of morning grumpiness. "One press is enough for people to hear you!"

He stuffed a piece of bread into his mouth, walked over to open the outer iron gate, and could not help letting out a huge yawn.

After several months of a regular elementary school routine, his schedule was quite healthy now.

But perhaps because the body he had suddenly changed back into had yet to adapt to its current metabolic rhythm, he felt far more exhausted than before.
