"Anything?"
The two officers looked at Sato's utterly serious expression, and in an instant their imaginations ran wild, fast-forwarding straight to which kindergarten their children should attend.
"Any wish? Then can I have a thousand servings of eel rice?"
"I want to live in Tropical Land's castle!"
"I want to go to the International Space Station!"
The three actual elementary schoolers became restless, each blurting out their greatest wish at the moment. Rather than genuine wishing, it sounded more like excited fantasy.
Miwako Sato looked down at the three of them with amusement and gently agreed, "Of course you can."
When her father died, she had been about the same age as these children. The hardships she had faced back then would have been no different for any group of children.
Of course, she could not expect this bunch of children to solve the cold case that had plagued her for over a decade. No matter how wild their wishes were, she would only respond with an amused smile.
With that in mind, she looked toward the last two elementary schoolers who had not spoken.
"Hmm, I want Prada's latest handbag." Ai Haibara tilted her head.
"Can I have tickets to this year's Soccer World Cup?" Conan pointed at his own face and asked with a cheerful smile.
"Uh, s-sure..." Miwako Sato nodded stiffly.
Those two children were frighteningly practical. And from the looks of it, they were answering seriously...
