Eri Kisaki, pacing anxiously outside the door, heard a ghostly female voice from behind it. Half a minute later, the door before her slowly opened a crack.
"Lawyer Kisaki, it's you." Ritsuko Usui stuck out half her face, recognized her, and murmured the words gloomily.
Peering over her shoulder, Ran Mouri met Ritsuko Usui's gaze. The worry on her face gradually eased.
Her father was a grown man. He wouldn't just get himself lost on vacation, and Karuizawa, as a tourist city, had excellent public security.
He had been missing for half the day, wasn't answering his phone, and hadn't brought his room key. Her greatest fear was that Mori Kogoro had gotten depressed because he couldn't drink, then run off to someplace like a red-light district bar. If that happened, Eri Kisaki's anger meter would probably explode on the spot.

"My dad has been gone for quite a while. He's not answering his phone, and he didn't bring his room key, so I came to ask." Ran Mouri asked, "Is he in your room?"
"Yeah, he's in my room." Ritsuko Usui's voice was as weak as a thread, and her resentment was heavier than that of a five-hundred-year-old female ghost.
