"What a vicious move." Barely dodging the punch aimed straight at his face, Hirotsugu Morofushi stepped back twice and smiled helplessly. "Three years apart, and this is the gift you give me for our reunion?"

When the punch missed, Furuya Rei followed up without hesitation, driving forward with an elbow strike. He clearly had no intention of letting the other man off.

After dodging two or three times, Hirotsugu Morofushi had almost nowhere left to retreat. He had no choice but to raise his fists and fight back.

Their movements were sharp and swift. Neither cared about defense; both fought to knock the other down as quickly as possible. Anyone unaware of their relationship might have thought they were mortal enemies determined to kill each other.

The two men locked in the rapid fight, however, both knew perfectly well that neither was truly going all out.

Back in the police academy, they had learned restraint techniques designed to protect themselves without causing excessive harm. But afterward, for the sake of their undercover work, they had been forced to change those habits. Their current fighting styles were killing techniques through and through.

Dodging a kick aimed at his calf, Hirotsugu Morofushi looked at Furuya Rei's face several meters away, and his thoughts briefly drifted.

He was reminded of when the two of them had met inside the organization.

As for the fact that the two undercover agents sent into the organization were childhood friends and close academy classmates, even they themselves had found it absurd.

After graduating from the police academy, they had entered different departments. He had gone to the Metropolitan Police Department, while Rei had gone to the National Police Agency.

The Metropolitan Police Department handled public safety and crime within Tokyo, while the National Police Agency was a
