Taking a Day to Rest and Look at the Story Ahead

Next, I'll finish the storylines about the Great Famine of Ireland and the Swiss civil war.

I may write a little about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in between. Personally, I think it's quite good, but I won't write much—just a side story.

I might also cover the Prussian version of the Estates-General (the United Diet of Prussia). These events are all connected to the Year of Storms.

If certain things are left out, then some events of the Year of Storms might be impossible to understand—or readers might understand them in a way that's completely at odds with the facts.

I think it's better to explain most of the events clearly. Also, I may stop writing in chronological order later on, since I'm always met with a chorus of complaints. But not sticking to a timeline would be good for me personally, because it would save me a lot of effort on the little details.

This is my first-and-a-half novel. I hope it does well, but at the same time, I don't want to leave too many regrets about this book. So I won't rush too much to fill out the word count or push the plot along.
