Background

Mu En is descended from Yu Xiaogang, the Grandmaster and one of Shrek Academy’s founders. He became curious after hearing of Feng Tianyu’s externalized martial soul because Yu Xiaogang’s Luo Sanpao had also been an external martial soul produced by mutation. His continued survival is a closely guarded secret; outside the Sea God Pavilion, few people know that he is still alive 7.

In the past, Mu En fought Du Bisi, the former Body Sect leader. Both combatants suffered irreversible injuries: Du Bisi later died, while Mu En survived by absorbing the power of a Dragon Core and breaking through to Rank 99. The Dragon Core’s baleful energy permanently damaged his waist, leaving him unable to stand straight 8.

As Pavilion Master, Mu En is concerned that Shrek Academy must adapt to the rapid development of the Sun Moon Empire’s soul guidance technology. Believing his remaining lifespan to be limited, he seeks to cultivate Feng Tianyu into a future pillar of Shrek Academy 11.

Personality

Mu En is perceptive and values potential over superficial appearances. He deduced Feng Tianyu’s Twin Martial Souls from the contradiction between Grey Wolf’s apparent quality and Feng Tianyu’s Innate Full Soul Power, then defended Tianyu’s right to keep his martial souls secret 7.

He is gentle and encouraging toward students he recognizes as worthy, treating Feng Tianyu with the warmth of a descendant. However, he is uncompromising toward conduct he considers harmful to Shrek Academy, openly reprimanding Yan Shaozhe for nearly rejecting a genius and later imprisoning Xuan Zi after a disastrous hunting expedition 7 65.

Mu En is also pragmatic about institutional change. Though he considers martial soul cultivation foundational, he permits Feng Tianyu’s Soul Guidance Department internship and later authorizes Soul Guidance Department electives for Martial Soul Department students 20 40.
