Background / History

Gu Yue was created as one of Gu Yuena's sub-personalities. Although she possesses her own emotions and desires, Gu Yuena can seize control of their shared body, leaving Gu Yue to bear consequences for actions she did not choose. Gu Yue fears that her eventual fate is to be absorbed and erased by Gu Yuena, which drives her desire for freedom and an independent self 44 53 57.

She enters the Leng Family's circle as Leng Yaozhu's disciple. When Na'er returns as Su Jiu's acknowledged child bride, Gu Yue is forced into the awkward position of addressing Na'er as her martial aunt despite their shared origins, intensifying their rivalry 32 33.

Gu Yue later accompanies Su Jiu and Na'er to Eastsea Academy. There, she studies under Su Jiu in Class Five before becoming part of Zero Class, while also joining the Spirit Pagoda rather than the Tang Sect 43 46 66.

On Devil's Island, Gu Yue's soul is separated from Gu Yuena's. Her soul is placed into the Twinborn Stone and receives the Destruction Godhood, while Na'er receives the Life Godhood; the two inheritances are intended to provide the foundation for their future bodies and power 86.

Personality

Gu Yue is competitive, proud, and easily provoked by Na'er. She resents being treated as inferior or being made to accept Na'er's higher familial status, yet her hostility is rooted partly in jealousy of Na'er's relative freedom and secure place within the Leng Family 32 33 57.

She is frequently tsundere toward Su Jiu, calling him “Old Su” while seeking his attention, allowance, and protection. Despite her complaints, she responds to his guidance and becomes increasingly attached to the stability he offers her 45 49 57.

Her strongest personal wish is independence from Gu Yuena. Gu Yue is deeply distressed by being controlled, blamed for Gu Yuena's behavior, and threatened with eventual erasure; Su Jiu encourages her to develop her own will rather than merely gain a separate body 53 57.

Her personalized curriculum emphasizes physics, chemistry, and movement techniques rather than conventional elemental instruction. The sudden academic workload leaves her overwhelmed and irritable, but it also develops her knowledge and control 50 51.

Class Promotion Tournament

Gu Yue stops holding back during the tournament against Classes Three and Two, using elemental reactions to nearly defeat opponents immediately and proving Class Five's strength 53.

During the three-way Class Promotion battle, Gu Yuena temporarily takes over Gu Yue's body and defeats Zhang Yangzi by replicating the form and firing method of Flame Demon Roar with elemental power 64.

Separation and Divine Inheritance

After Gu Yuena seeks Su Jiu's help to create separate bodies for Gu Yue and Na'er, Gu Yue's soul is separated and transferred into the Twinborn Stone on Devil's Island. She receives the Destruction Godhood as part of the process 75 86.
