Background / History

Tang San was originally a Tang Sect disciple who created the Buddha Fury Tang Lotus and leapt from Ghost Sorrow Cliff after claiming to have stolen the sect's manuals. The Tang Sect elders believed he may have sought another world in which to establish a sect of his own. 45

His soul later replaced the original soul of Tang Hao and Ah Yin's infant son. After becoming a God King in his prior future, Tang San was sent back through time-space turbulence to the beginning of his life. Tang Hao, hunted after being accused of colluding with soul beasts and inheriting the Evil God's legacy, adopted the identity Zhang Richao and renamed him Zhang San. 53

At six, Tang San revealed his rebirth to Tang Hao and requested a private martial-soul awakening rather than one overseen by Martial Soul Hall. The awakening confirmed Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power. He chose to attend school and gather allies, intending to regain the Sea God trials and eventually retaliate against Martial Soul Hall. 54

His intended route repeatedly diverged from his past life. Li Pu's interference deprived him of the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline and the Immortal Herbs he expected to obtain, while Tang San became fixated on recovering the Eight Spider Lances and restoring his advantages. 179 213 223

After Xiao Wu sacrificed herself to save him, Tang San became a level 53 Soul King and concealed the sacrifice from outsiders. He withdrew from the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament, deciding that the Clear Sky Sect, Slaughter City, the Star Dou Forest, and Sea God Island mattered more to his path to godhood than the tournament. 264 265 267

At the Clear Sky Sect, Tang Xiao publicly claimed Tang San as his son. Tang San supported the claim by presenting his Dragon-Pattern Blue Silver Grass as an inherited mutation, then falsely described Xiao Wu's sacrifice as the killing of a transformed hundred-thousand-year soul beast. The elders accepted him as Young Sect Master and opened the sect's resources to him. 270 272 273

Tang San entered Slaughter City to obtain the Divine Slaughter's Domain. After one hundred Hell Slaughter Arena victories and completion of Hell Road, he became a Title Douluo, freed Tang Chen from possession, and chose to devour Slaughter City for power. 290 291 292 293

He later persuaded Da Ming and Er Ming to sacrifice their rings and soul bones, but Li Pu stole the Evil God Pearl Tang San sought from the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. Tang San escaped after Li Pu overwhelmed his group and Tang Chen stayed behind to cover their retreat. He subsequently set his sights on Sea God Island and the Sea God inheritance. 300 303 305 313

Appearance

Tang San was initially described as approachable and pleasant-looking rather than notably handsome. Following Xiao Wu's sacrifice, Slaughter City, and his Asura inheritance, his former gentle bearing gave way to scarlet eyes, dark-red baleful energy, and an increasingly blade-like presence. 176 281 313

  • His eyes can turn purple when using the Purple Demon Eye. 118
  • His Blue Silver Grass becomes thick and golden after gaining the Golden Sacred Dragon bloodline. 228
  • His Clear Sky Hammer is later described as pitch-black with faint golden dragon patterns. 277
  • His post-Slaughter City Blue Silver Grass bears dark-red Asura demonic patterns. 313

Personality

Tang San presents himself as calm, noble, considerate, and righteous when doing so advances his interests. He can maintain this persona even while concealing major plans from allies, as seen when he prepared Xiao Wu for sacrifice while reassuring her of his affection. 262 263

His rebirth leaves him proud, calculating, and unwilling to accept a diminished role. He views many companions as replaceable subordinates, prioritizes valuable bloodlines and martial souls over their grievances, and uses promises of godhood to secure loyalty. 53 172 265

As setbacks accumulate, Tang San becomes increasingly obsessive and ruthless. His pursuit of the Eight Spider Lances, retaliation against Li Pu, and willingness to devour Slaughter City all reflect his readiness to embrace the Asura path for revenge. 179 293 304

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San awakened with Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, both supported by Innate Full Soul Power. 54

  • Clear Sky Hammer — Used for forceful hammer techniques, including Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. 273
  • Dragon-Pattern / Golden Sacred Dragon Blue Silver Grass — His Blue Silver Grass evolved after he fused essence blood from Yu Dash, Liu Erlong, and Flender into it. 227 228
  • Golden Sacred Dragon manifestation — Can form countless dragon-scaled grass blades into a giant golden dragon phantom. 277
  • Asura Demon Grass and Asura Demon Blade — Martial souls gained after refining Slaughter City and its Asura origin. 293

Tang Sect Arts

Tang San retains techniques and knowledge from his Tang Sect life.

  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — Circulates Soul Power, conceals the aura of his red spirit ring, and aids recovery from injuries. 227 265 290
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — An evasive movement art used to avoid attacks and pursue opponents. 118 290 302
  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — A grappling and control technique used alongside his movement and hidden weapons. 118 290
  • Purple Demon Eye — Enhances his perception enough to observe opponents' martial souls, spirit rings, and Soul Power trajectories from outside the battlefield. 118 265
  • Hidden weapons — Uses Tang Sect hidden-weapon techniques and carries a Silent Sleeve Arrow. 118 172

Clear Sky Sect Secret Arts

Tang San rapidly mastered techniques that he had only superficially understood in his former life. 277

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — Employed both in combat and in his fabricated account of obtaining Xiao Wu's soul ring. 273
  • Clear Sky Nine Absolutes — Memorized and mastered within roughly half a month of entering the sect's Scripture Pavilion. 277
  • Great Sumeru Hammer Technique — Mastered during Clear Sky Sect training; Tang Chen later transmitted its true essence and his own combat insights to Tang San. 277 292

Asura Inheritance

The Asura God considers Tang San an ideal successor because of his Twin Martial Souls, Clear Sky bloodline, resilience, and killing intent. 283

  • Divine Slaughter's Domain — Earned after one hundred consecutive Hell Slaughter Arena victories. 291
  • Asura god-tier ninth ring — A hundred-thousand-year crimson ring with nine golden divine patterns, formed directly from the Asura God's origin. 292
  • Divine spatial sealing — Used to counter the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's spatial escape. 303
  • Resistance to Slaughter City's corruption — The city's fallen aura strengthened his killing intent instead of breaking his sanity. 284
  • Limitation — Tang Chen warned that devouring Slaughter City could reduce him to a monster ruled by slaughter; Tang San proceeded regardless. 293

Soul Bones and Devouring

Tang San repeatedly pursues External Soul Bones and bloodline-based improvements.

  • A Man Faced Demon Spider ring produced bone spurs from his palms and soles, identified as an External Soul Bone with a devouring effect that turns touched matter into purple dust and absorbs its energy. 177
  • The Eight Spider Lances are reported as acquired from a Man Faced Demon Spider before being stolen by the Masked Girl. 176 179
  • Li Pu forcibly fused six low-durability, ten-year soul bones into Tang San. 237
  • Xiao Wu's sacrifice gave Tang San her hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and spirit bones. 264
  • Da Ming's Wisdom Skull greatly amplified his spiritual power and strengthened its compatibility with the Asura God's mark. 300
  • Er Ming's paired arm bones granted immense physical strength; Tang San could withstand a Title Douluo's attack with his body alone. 300

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Silent Sleeve Arrow — A compact Tang Sect hidden weapon carried by Tang San. 172
  • Buddha Fury Tang Lotus — A creation from his Tang Sect life, left behind with the sect before his leap from Ghost Sorrow Cliff. 45
  • Clear Sky Sect life-preserving treasure — Prepared for him before he entered Slaughter City; its exact nature is not stated. 280
