| Great Unity Golden Immortal — minor breakthrough | 493 | Refined dormant sun-and-moon essence accumulated since his origin as a Five-Colored Stone while battling Baros. |
| Late-stage Great Unity Golden Immortal | 494 | Reached the late stage with battle power exceeding 9 billion; his foundation had accumulated over hundreds of eons. |
| Super Saiyan 3 | 1161 | Displayed 150 billion combat power in the Realm of the Gods of Destruction. |
| Super Saiyan 4 | 1171 | Achieved the red-furred form through the Great Ape route; reached 160 billion combat power and Demigod level. |

| Super Saiyan 4 + Twentyfold Kaioken | 1600 | Defeated Beerus at his peak with Baros’s aid and the Will of the Era; the multiplier was fatal to his frail body without outside support. |
| Silver-white three-power fusion | 1744 1745 | Forged a form combining traits of Super Saiyan 5, Super Saiyan Blue, and Ultra Instinct; he uses Ultra Instinct principles to balance its otherwise unstable power. |
Background / History
Dragon Ball World
Sun Wukong was born with a battle power of only two. He later became recognized on Earth as its strongest martial artist beneath Master Roshi, but eventually found that Earth no longer offered meaningful opponents or room for growth. 227 228
When Bardock appeared before him, Wukong immediately treated the unknown Saiyan as a grave threat and ordered his pregnant wife Chi-Chi to retreat indoors. Bardock was pleased to discover that Kakarot had settled down and started a family, despite being disappointed by his initial combat power. 224
After reaching a plateau on Earth, Wukong spent two years on Divine Martial Battle Star. Under Bardock and Gine’s guidance, and through gravity training and Senzu-enhanced healing chambers, he raised his battle power to 1.2 million; shortly afterward, he completed the first transformation of the Eight-Nine Profound Technique at 1.35 million. 503 538
His time conquering the East Galaxy hardened his outlook. Having once endangered three thousand Saiyans through mercy, he came to accept the universe’s law of the strong preying on the weak; during this period, he destroyed a planet in rage and killed countless inhabitants. 630
Journey to the West World
In the Journey to the West World, Wukong was born from the Five-Colored Stone used to mend the heavens. He studied under Patriarch Bodhi, obtained treasures from the Dragon Palace, caused chaos in Yama Palace and Heaven, and was ultimately suppressed beneath Five Elements Mountain. 489
After intimidating King Yemma, Wukong erased both his own name and the names of his monkey descendants from the Book of Life and Death, securing their immortality. 487
Baros later gave him a Memory Infusion Device containing the truth of his life and the Journey to the West. Wukong learned that the Heavenly Court and Buddhist Realm had shaped him into a pawn for Western Buddhism’s rise. Rather than submit to that fate, he resolved to resist it, and his magical power rose in response to his fury. 488 489
Appearance
Wukong’s appearance changes dramatically with his transformations, while his most distinctive forms combine Saiyan traits with primal Great Ape characteristics.
- Super Saiyan — golden hair, green eyes, and a blazing golden aura. 392
- Super Saiyan 3 — waist-length golden hair and pronounced brow ridges. 1161 1662
- Super Saiyan 4 — shoulder-length hair, red fur across the body, and red-rimmed eyes. 1171
- Super Saiyan 4 Blue Fusion — surrounded by azure and blood-red energy, with wild hair likened to an enraged lion’s mane. 1570
- Silver-white fused form — retains his normal Saiyan hairstyle, but his hair and pupils become silver-white; the form carries both Super Saiyan 5’s ferocity and a trace of Ultra Instinct. 1744
Personality
Sun Wukong is intensely battle-hungry. He seeks the strongest available opponents rather than safer victories, openly celebrated drawing Baros in the Other World tournament, and discarded plans to study weaker fighters’ techniques because he wanted to challenge the strongest immediately. 384 390
His drive is matched by exceptional resolve. He continued using Kaioken despite knowing it had previously contributed to his death, pursued training from Baros after being effortlessly repelled, and repeatedly treats overwhelming opponents as opportunities to improve. 428 1162 1169
He is also protective of those he considers his own. He shielded Chi-Chi from Bardock before knowing whether the visitor was friend or foe, and used the Book of Life and Death to ensure his monkey descendants would not die. 224 487
The revelation of his predetermined Journey to the West fate sharpened his defiance. Wukong rejects any authority that claims ownership over his life, whether Heaven, Buddhism, or fate itself. 489
Abilities & Skills
Saiyan Transformations
Wukong possesses an unusually broad Saiyan transformation path, ranging from Super Saiyan to a self-developed fusion of Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan Blue, Super Saiyan 5 traits, and Ultra Instinct. 392 1481 1744
- Super Saiyan 4 is more stable and less stamina-intensive than Super Saiyan 3, despite its more violent aura. 1171
- His Super Saiyan 4 Blue Fusion surpassed all Gods of Destruction, but could not initially last even five to ten minutes due to stamina loss. 1561 1575
- His silver-white form requires constant mental control; loss of balance can cause its three fused powers to erupt uncontrollably. 1745
Kaioken
Wukong can layer Kaioken over his transformations to multiply his combat power dramatically. 428 1179
- Has used twofold, fourfold, tenfold, and twentyfold Kaioken. 1179 1185 1600
- Kaioken can burn his energy, blood, and body beyond safe limits; Tenfold Kaioken began disintegrating his body. 1185
- In Other World, he considered the technique less dangerous because the dead could recover after being torn apart, though his living body remained vulnerable to its strain. 428 430
Eight-Nine Profound Technique
Wukong cultivates the Eight-Nine Profound Technique, a body-forging cultivation art from the Journey to the West World. 495 536
- Its first transformation forged his physical body and was completed within two months on Divine Martial Battle Star. 538
- The third turn naturally forms an Indestructible Vajra Body; Wukong’s prior cultivation had already granted him an indestructible vajra physique after his breakthrough. 495 536
- The higher turns grant abilities including void-crossing, rebirth from a drop of blood, endless regeneration, and eventual Primordial Unity. 536
- His lack of deeper Eight-Nine Profound Technique cultivation remains a major limitation on his ability to sustain Super Saiyan 4 Blue and later forms. 1527 1575
Earthly Fiend Seventy-Two Transformations
Wukong possesses the Earthly Fiend Seventy-Two Transformations, a divine transformation technique sought by Baros. 490 507
- Baros regarded the technique as powerful enough to move him and traded for it alongside Wukong’s Somersault Cloud and Eight-Nine Profound Technique. 506 507
- It is associated with the abilities Baros wished to witness when challenging Wukong in Flower Fruit Mountain. 490
Martial Arts
Wukong is an experienced close-quarters fighter whose combat instinct and Saiyan adaptability allow him to learn opponents’ rhythms in battle. 393 1548
- Kamehameha — projected an attack so powerful that even Wukong doubted he could withstand it himself; at Tenfold Kaioken, his Kamehameha tore through dimensional spaces. 396 1185
- Heaven-Piercing Fist — a childhood ultimate technique carrying a destructive Great Ape-like aura; in his peak fusion state, it was stated to threaten an entire Great Thousand Universe. 432 1570
- Battle adaptation — adapted to Doro’s fighting style and shadow-diving ability in under a minute, turning a slight power deficit into counterattacks. 1548
- Extreme endurance — withstood tens of thousands of Hit’s Time-Skip attacks without injury after surpassing the God of Destruction level. 1482
Somersault Cloud
Wukong uses the Somersault Cloud for travel, including leaving Other World after altering the Book of Life and Death. 487
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Ruyi Jingu Bang / Golden Cudgel — Wukong’s signature staff, which he can return to his ear; its technique A Thousand Jun Clears the Universe can strike with heaven-and-earth-shaking force. 487 488
- Memory Infusion Device — given to him by Baros; revealed the complete truth surrounding his Journey to the West fate. 488 489
- Book of Life and Death — temporarily used to erase his and his monkey descendants’ names. 487
Relationships
- Baros — Initially an opponent in both the Other World tournament and the Journey to the West World; later became Wukong’s mentor and benefactor, teaching him the paths to Super Saiyan 4 and higher divine transformations. Wukong holds him in gratitude and reverence. 392 490 1169 1586
- Chi-Chi — Wife. Wukong ordered her to safety when Bardock’s presence frightened him; she was pregnant at the time. 224
- Bardock — Father. Bardock oversaw Wukong’s growth on Divine Martial Battle Star and was satisfied by his battle spirit and perseverance. 224 503 619
- Gohan — Son and later a benchmark for Wukong’s growth. Gohan recognizes Wukong’s unique path of fusing Super Saiyan 5, Super Saiyan Blue, and Ultra Instinct traits. 539 1744
- Vegeta — Fellow Saiyan and rival. Vegeta is repeatedly unsettled by Wukong’s escalating power but continues to measure himself against him. 390 1575
- Beerus — God of Destruction of Universe 7 and a pivotal opponent. Wukong eventually defeated him at peak strength with Twentyfold Kaioken, Baros’s aid, and the Will of the Era. 1158 1600
- Whis — Angel of Universe 7 who guides Wukong toward divine transformations and recognizes his growth potential. 1162 1171
- Grand Minister — Secretly orchestrated events, including the Tournament of Power, to nurture Wukong toward Angel Level and beyond. 1527 1600
- King Yemma — Intimidated by Wukong into handing over the Book of Life and Death. 487
- Hit — Tournament rival whose Time-Skip initially pressured Wukong into another breakthrough; after Wukong’s fusion transformation, Hit could no longer injure him. 1475 1482
