Just as Rosward was about to fire, Shanks suddenly ran over and deliberately bumped into him. Rosward's gun hand was knocked aside, and when the bullet left the barrel, its trajectory changed, striking a nearby chair instead.
Seeing Shanks act this way, Li narrowed his eyes slightly and withdrew his killing intent. That bump against Rosward might have looked careless on the surface, but Li could tell that Shanks clearly wanted to save Rosward. He had caused the bullet to miss while also depriving Li of a reason to make a move. Of course, that last thought was nothing more than Shanks's wishful thinking. If Li wanted someone dead, whether they had acted or not did not mean Li would spare them.
"You lowly, wretched inferior! You did that on purpose, didn't you? Go die!" Rosward was furious. The lowlifes he normally looked down upon had now offended him one after another, sending him into a towering rage. He immediately aimed his gun at Shanks, but just then, a terrifying pressure descended. Rosward's eyes flew wide, as though he had seen something horrifying, and he passed out on the spot. His son—the chubby little brat with snot hanging from his nose—met the same fate. So did the guards who had just rushed in; every last one of them collapsed unconscious.
"Conqueror's Haki?" Li narrowed his eyes slightly and looked toward the source of the aura. A lean middle-aged man emerged while scratching his head, his face full of smiles. He looked nothing like someone associated with the word "king."
"Sorry, sorry. I just woke up, and then I suddenly saw so many people charging in with weapons, so I accidentally... well, you know. My sincerest apologies!"
