Hawonglong Island had nothing remarkable about it; it was merely an ordinary island. But ever since it had become Whitebeard's territory, it was no longer ordinary. Though Whitebeard was a great pirate, he had no interest in treasures or the like. What he preferred was the warmth of family. Thus, rather than calling the lands under his banner territory, it would be more accurate to call them places under his protection. No pirate dared to run wild anywhere sheltered by Whitebeard. Take Hawonglong Island, for instance—aside from pirates who came to purchase food, hardly any pirates dared cause trouble here. Whitebeard's name alone was enough to intimidate anyone.
From afar, the Kaido Pirates' remaining seven pirate ships could be seen moored at Hawonglong Island. The pirates surged ashore in a crowd. They were starving beyond endurance, and before purchasing supplies, they had to first eat their fill. Otherwise, before Mirai could kill them, they would starve to death themselves.
"What happened? Why are so many pirates landing at once?"
The street vendors watched the Kaido Pirates occupying the road and instinctively shrank back. Ever since Hawonglong had come under Whitebeard's rule, it had been rare for so many pirates to land at once. After all, if they were merely buying supplies, a dozen or so men would normally suffice. Yet this time, the entire Kaido Pirates crew had come—seven hundred men in total. Walking down the street, they looked as though they were about to go to war with someone.
"Captain, the Immortal Pirates' ship has docked here too. What should we do?" A pirate ran to Kaido's side and asked cautiously.
"Idiot! Is this the time to talk about that? Do you want to be killed, or do you want to starve to death?" Kaido glared and snapped furiously.
