Roger emerged victorious, bringing their rivalry to an end. Later, Roger was executed, and Whitebeard settled down without launching any particularly large campaigns. Golden Lion, however, went to Marine Headquarters at Marineford and wreaked havoc, supposedly in an attempt to rescue Gol D. Roger. He ultimately failed and was imprisoned in Impel Down. But why had he appeared here now?
