Lan Kai believes the academy may use the tree to conceal Dark Rings, though this is his inference rather than a confirmed storage method. 52

Devil Island

Devil Island was a desolate island saturated with destructive energy and used for Shrek Academy’s military training. A generation of Shrek Seven Devils died there, leaving behind souls that became part of the island’s unique environment. 209 212

After its destructive power vanished, the island became rich in life energy and the Seven Old Demons disappeared. Shrek Academy ultimately exchanged Devil Island for benefits during negotiations with the North Sea Legion, losing a major training ground. 212 214

Dark Rings

Shrek Academy possesses Dark Rings, dangerous artifacts capable of supplying enormous energy and explosively increasing a user’s power. Cai Yue’er publicly used one during the Tianhai incident, causing major backlash. 50 52

Yun Ming and Long Yeyue secretly researched the rings. Later events identify Shrek Academy as having held three Dark Rings, with one already recovered by Chapter 203. 51 203

History

Tianhai Alliance Grand Competition

Shrek Academy normally has little interest in most tournaments, relying instead on exhibition teams to display its standing as the continent’s foremost academy. 39

Eastsea Academy’s Zero Class replaced the prior Tianhai youth champions for an exhibition match against Shrek’s representatives. The challenge became a major public spectacle after Zero Class defeated the former champions while using less than ten percent of its Soul Power. 41 43

Shrek’s seven-person team was decisively defeated by Zero Class at the opening ceremony. The loss, combined with Cai Yue’er’s conduct afterward, damaged the academy’s public reputation and forced an emergency Sea God Pavilion meeting. 47 50

Recruitment of Zero Class

Following the defeat, Yun Ming proposed admitting Zero Class and Wu Zhangkong early with Inner Court-level treatment. The offer included access to Shrek’s cultivation grounds and high-quality provisions. 51 53

Lan Kai, Gu Yue, the other Zero Class members, and Wu Zhangkong declined the preferential admission. Wu Zhangkong insisted that his students should earn entry openly and honorably. 53 54

Academic Conflicts

The academy’s first- and second-year exchange activity was intended to pit newer students against more experienced ones. Instead, the first-years overwhelmingly defeated the second-years, placing pressure on the latter group. 103 105

During the first-year final examination, students were barred from receiving direct outside financial support and subjected to strict inspections before departure. 106 107

Star Luo Tournament and Exchange

Shrek Academy’s delegation entered the Star Luo Empire’s Continental Young Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament in individual, doubles, and team events. 138 145

Devil Island Crisis

When Devil Island’s destructive energy disappeared, Shrek Academy dispatched Yun Ming and Long Yeyue to investigate and requested Tang Sect assistance from Zang Xin. 212

Yun Ming, Long Yeyue, and Zang Xin killed North Sea Legion personnel encountered on the island while attempting to seal the area and investigate the disappearance of the Seven Old Demons. The incident triggered public backlash and conflict with the major legions. 213
