Background

Gu Yue registered as a Level 18 Soul Master under the Martial Soul name Light-Dark Elemental Wielder, a combination stated to have no precedent in Douluo Continent history. She arrived at Eastsea Academy a month later than expected, having delayed her enrollment while attempting to learn Lan Kai's Ultra Slash. 10 12 13

Her immediate focus at Eastsea was surpassing Lan Kai in mastery of light. During the Class Promotion Tournament, she created an imitation technique called Super Ultra Slash, but Lan Kai defeated both her and Tang Wulin. She then used her connection to Leng Yaozhu—already her personal teacher—to report Lan Kai. 13 15

While training in the Spirit Ascension Platform, Gu Yue observed Lan Kai closely in hopes of improving her own combat abilities. Her initial confidence repeatedly put her in danger, including when she had to ask Lan Kai for help against a pride of Flame Lions. 16 20

After entering Shrek Academy, Gu Yue struggled to cooperate with Zero Class and became increasingly preoccupied with Lan Kai. Gu Yue used the Dark Ring, Di Tian's power, and a Zetton card during the duel, becoming the Silver Dragon King Chimera. Despite this, she lost the wager and became Lan Kai's servant under its terms. 94 96

Personality
