Ge Long began practicing martial arts at sixteen. His talent was average: he reached the peak of Strength Refining at twenty, then spent two years waiting for further cultivation methods before turning to Wan Chuan for support. He cultivated the Guarding the One Embracing Primordial Skill, associated with Patriarch Shouyizi's lineage. 82 83

During the mission against the Lingbi Mountain bandits, Ge Long helped plan the operation and tried to reassure Lu Cheng that the assignment was not as dangerous as it seemed. He was injured while fighting a Body Refining Realm bandit alongside Wan Chuan, then assisted in searching for the bandits' hideout. 79 82

After the mission, Ge Long urged Lu Cheng to bypass Wan Chuan and seek support directly from more influential elders. He explained the East Sun Sect's peak-and-lineage politics, while admitting that his own dependence on Wan Chuan came from years without access to subsequent cultivation techniques. 82 83
