First Battle!

Carrying out this mission alongside Shiro and the others was a regular chunin squad.

Shiro observed them carefully. All three were fairly old, and they were civilians without much talent to speak of.

But Shiro did not look down on them because of that. Even if they had reached chunin by slowly grinding out seniority, they were still proper chunin. In terms of experience, they far surpassed them.

Forget the three kids—even Shiro himself might not have as much mission experience as they did. The most fitting way to describe them was old hands.

And in the mission that followed, they proved themselves. Along the way, many of the preparations they made were things Shiro had not thought of at all, and all of it was precious experience.

What Shiro gained through Projection was only combat techniques related to weapons. Ninjutsu could be counted among them, but this sort of experience could not. Because of that, this area had always been Shiro's weak point.

After all, for one thing, he himself had not carried out that many missions, and in many of them Shikaki and the others had been the ones thinking and laying out the plans. Shiro and Taichi were basically just hired muscle.

For another, when he had acted alone over the past few years, he had basically confirmed that he held an absolute advantage, then charged in headfirst!

So he was still very lacking in this kind of experience. He liked brute-forcing things, but that did not mean he did not understand how important this stuff was. Because of that, Shiro decided to push back the time when he would head to the battlefield a little longer.

He would first run a few more escort missions, specifically traveling with these seasoned chunin to learn more and keep
