After the rumbling faded, only a vast cloud of dust remained. Nagato's Rinnegan stared fixedly ahead. The instant anything changed, he would launch an attack at once. He had great confidence in the dynamic vision of those eyes.

Unfortunately, he was missing some information, and because of that, he overlooked one thing—the Asura Path's corpse.

"Bang!"

Hearing the loud crash, Nagato whipped his head around and saw a huge white snake bite straight through the floor, swallowing in one gulp the Asura Path corpse he had been using as a trap.

"Yamata Fusion Technique!"

The instant it swallowed the Asura Path's corpse, Orochimaru decisively activated the ninjutsu he used to complete his path toward Kekkei Mōra, digesting it in an instant.

And once Orochimaru's technique activated, an abnormal change appeared.

The white snake's pupils began to ripple with ring after ring of waves. A moment later, the snake pupils vanished, replaced by the Rinnegan.

Unfortunately, there was very little ocular power left in the Asura Path corpse as a contingency. The white snake's Rinnegan dissipated in an instant.

However, although the time he experienced the Rinnegan was short, and although its ability was pitifully weak, even far inferior to Pain's Projection, it did not stop Orochimaru from studying some of the Rinnegan's properties.

It was precisely this act of swallowing that made him give up on the idea of fusing with the Rinnegan. Though it possessed Yin-Yang power, the Rinnegan still leaned toward Yin Release, while its Yang Release power was still comparatively weak.

That was not the same as the power of the Sage of Six Paths recorded in the ancient texts. This kind of Rinnegan was not what he needed. Of course, it was not completely useless either. The nature of its power still offered
