Naruto wasn't upset when he got no response from the Nine-Tails. He smiled and drew back his right hand, then looked up at it. "I can feel it. Deep down, you're very lonely. So"—Naruto took a deep breath and stared at the Nine-Tails with determination—"I'll drive away every last bit of loneliness in your heart!"
After saying that, he saw the Nine-Tails give no reaction at all and walked back toward Shiro in disappointment.
In truth, that was only normal. The resentment in the Nine-Tails' heart had built up over so many years. How could it possibly be dissolved by a few words from Naruto? Even if he was Asura's reincarnation and had a bonus to his talk-no-jutsu, it was still useless.
Shiro patted Naruto on the head and took him away from this place.
After they left, the Nine-Tails opened its eyes slightly, then calmly closed them again.
"Boring."
In the outside world, Naruto opened his eyes and sighed.
"What's wrong? Don't tell me it's because the Nine-Tails didn't respond to you? You little idiot shouldn't be that sensitive, right?"
"You're the idiot!" Naruto shouted, bristling, and turned his head aside. "I'm just sorry I couldn't learn its name. I have a feeling that if I can learn its name, my relationship with it will improve a lot."
Naruto lowered his head in disappointment. "It's just a shame it didn't answer me just now."
If the Nine-Tails had answered Naruto just now, even with a random sentence, Naruto would have been able to obtain information through his ability. Unfortunately, the Nine-Tails had stayed silent. This could count as one small flaw of that ability.
"If it's the name, I know it. I can tell you if you need it." Shiro walked back to his desk and sat down.
"Mm-mm."
